“So what do you think...,” Lou quickly weaved out of the way of her friend’s killer right hook. “You’re gonna do,” she swung a jab of her own, “after graduation?” She swung a kick high, narrowly missing Claire’s shoulder. “Any plans?”

“I yield!” Mandy gasped as she collapsed back down onto the mat in exhaustion. “You have bested me again wise and powerful Master!” Why she had even decided to spar with Claire was beyond her.

“Is this going to be like last time?” That was Alec’s first question when he saw where Claire was dragging him to. He had been more than happy to hang out with his friend in Roseville, to replace what he had done the last time that they were allowed into town with new memories. But now that he saw what she had in mind, he was beginning to regret it. By now Alec really should have known to be more careful around her. “I don’t think I can drink that much again.” because their little vodka pity party a couple weeks ago had left him with a terrible hangover that he was in no rush to repeat.

“So, what are you gonna get Kass for Christmas?” Lou asked Claire, looking up from her computer as she did. It had only been like 45 minutes but she was already bored of studying for her German 3 final; besides she knew she would ace it anyway. “Sky writing? Sleigh ride in the snow? A sparkling diamond necklace? Because you know, you’re such a simp now.”

Lou was on a mission and when she was on a mission there was nothing that could stop her from getting what she wanted, even if it seemed impossible. Besides, she needed something to throw her time and effort into that wasn’t school and since Dimitri was off on some mission and not answering her texts, she also needed a distraction. “I have a proposition for you,” she said with a smirk as she approached Claire at her punching bag. “And you’re not allowed to say no.”

“It’s fine,” Alec insisted as he stepped off of the sparring mat, even though he was currently pinching his nose and trying to stop all the bleeding. Claire had bested him and had gotten in a good shot and his nose had been the victim of that shot. “I’m fine, I don’t think it’s even broken.”

One, two, three, four, five. Lowering his gun as the echoes of the shots rang throughout the shooting range, Alec inspected his work and smiled a little bit to himself at the results. Five shots right into the center of the target. Years of spy school and army training meant that he was a good shot and he prided himself on that fact; out of everything that they trained for it was probably his best skill. He raised his arm, ready to shoot again but someone walking in stopped him. “Is it time for our date?” he teased Claire, setting his gun down. “I thought we were meeting on the mat.”

She looked just as out of place here as he did. Alec knew that if they were meeting in the sparring arena, a place much more familiar, they would both be more comfortable. But instead they were surrounded by pink petals and it made him feel increasingly awkward. “Hey,” he said, stuffing his hands into his pockets as he did. “Mimi said you wanted to see me?”
