anke shakes her head, trying to dismiss it. “it’s stupid. i shouldn’t, it’s,” she sighs, running her hands through her hair. she wants to just shut down, but she knows it’s not going to help or do any good. especially when carter is trying to reach out to her. “my mother noticed we’re getting along better now,” she says, starting to get up from her spot before sitting back down. “and she suggested we actually set a wedding date soon,” this is the last she can tell him while looking at him. “and it’s stupid, and i know it’s stupid, but i guess with how things have been going, i sort of forgot this was all a show for them, to make them look good, for keeping up appearances and i don’t know, i’d forgotten it wasn’t real.”
