It had stung seeing Hayley with someone else other than Finn, especially to see how happy she’d been when she’d first walked into The Winchester before she’d spotted him and Finn. He and Hayley hadn’t exactly been on the best speaking terms since he’d told her about Lily being pregnant and even so, his whole attention had been on her and work. But he couldn’t lie and say that seeing her with someone else hadn’t made his realise how much he’d been a dick to her. He’d been sat in his car for nearly twenty minutes before he got out and knocked on Hayley’s door. Atticus swallowed thickly when she opened the door, exhaling sharply. “So before you say anything, let me say this before I don’t.” He paused, exhaling again as he looked at her.
“I love you. Not just you’re my best friend and I love you, I want to be with you kind of I love you. I have for years and I’ve always been so worried that saying these words would ruin everything but I need you to know. And if it fucks everything up then I’ll take full responsibility for that. I’ve wanted to tell you for years, even more so over the past few months but then Finn showed up and fucked it all up and then the other night seeing you with someone else, it felt like I’d lost my chance. And if I have, then I get it, I just want you to be happy, you deserve all the happiness in the world and if that guy gives you that then I’m happy for you. But I want you to know I love you and I want you in my life, I’ve hated not having you these past few weeks. But if me telling you all this ruins that then at least you know and I can stop kicking myself for not trying. And even if you don’t feel the same and we just remain friends then I’ll accept that but I want you to know that I want more.” He took a step closer to her. “I love you, Hayley Davenport.” @fadiingstarliight
