bea could honestly say that faking being someone’s wife wasn’t something she’d ever intended on doing. but she’d been couch-surfing for way too long now and all she wanted was a nice bed to sleep in. and she’d seen posts that someone rich and famous was in town, so pretending to be their wife had seemed like a logical choice somehow.
and to be completely honest, she wasn’t entirely sure how she’d pulled it off. but the lady at the front desk had believed her, and now here she was, having taken a bath in the nicest tub she’d ever seen, wrapped up in an impossibly fluffy robe, and scrolling through the pay-per-view channels on this bigass fancy flat-screen tv in the hotel room.
that was, until the doorknob had turned. she gasped sharply, rolling off the bed and landing between it and the wall with a thud and a quiet grunt. she stayed where she was, hoping that she’d be able to sneak out of the room without being seen.
