Justin took the drinks without a word, his lips parted and his gaze fixated on Jordan as he listened to his words. He had to admit that they flooded him with relief; he had been worried that Sam was Jordan’s son or similar, and that had worried him - though he wasn’t quite sure why. All he was worried about now was whether this Sam would like him, because he certainly didn’t want to interrupt their family life. He knew he could be a burden, and he didn’t want to force that on anyone, particularly not a stranger who had never even heard of him.
“Um- I guess, just- are you sure this is okay? I really don’t want to be a burden. I- if you change your mind, that’s okay!” He spoke in earnest, eyes wide; he was scared to make anyone uncomfortable with his prescence, and wanted Jordan to know, under no uncertain terms, that it was okay not to want him.
Jordan merely smiled at the boy’s concern. Maybe he really should’ve told him about Sam, but-- There honestly was nothing to be worried about. Not that he would convince Justin of that until he’d meet the man himself. “You are not a burden.” The black-haired man spoke slowly as the two of them made their way to the exit. “And I’m not changing my mind.” He added more softly mere seconds before he put his hand on Justin’s shoulder and they got wrapped in a dark cloud.
Upon the dark cloud slowly vanishing, Jordan’s house revealed in front of them. It was a lovely-looking cottage with a garden around it and the dojo just on the other side of the garden. They had it all together here, both their home and their dojo. “Sam!” He called out as they stepped further in the garden, looking around and calling for a few more times without much success. A sigh then escaped his lips. “Oi, old man!”
“Who you calling old?!” A voice then finally came from the direction of the dojo. The reaction made Jordan chuckle to himself and he turned to Justin to take the drink that was meant for Sam. “I’ll be right back.” Giving the redhead a quick smile, he turned to go greet the older man who had emerged from the dojo just now. His deep blue eyes lingered on the young boy for a bit before he turned his attention to Jordan and the food he brought.
They exchanged a few words, but it didn’t seem like Sam was protesting much about Justin being there. On the contrary, he even turned to smile at him once Jordan made his way back. “You better not feed junk food to that boy all the time, Jou! There’s some proper food in the fridge too!” The bearded man called out with a laugh, only getting a dismissive wave from Jordan, who did smile though.
“I told you everything’s fine.” Jordan smiled at the other and nodded towards the house. “Come on, let’s go.” While Sam returned back to the dojo, Jordan lead Justin into the house and toward the kitchen where he placed the food on the table for them to eat.
