Why did it seem like weeks, even if it was days. The Powers frowned as They look at Akakawa's door, knowing he would be in there tending to his 'garden'. They glanced around before rapping a knuckle on the door. A soundless question from Their Anti made Them nod. "It's best to tell him now..." They muttered as They waited.
Over time, Akakawa had gotten used to people knocking on his door. This time, he didn’t freeze up when he heard a soft knock and trotted upstairs to answer it. Opening it, he offered a kind smile, “Oh, hello,” he greeted. “Come in. Come for a visit?”

In a world alphas and betas ruled, Akakawa found that omegas struggled. A lot. Some enjoyed having all of the attention and the ideas of finding the perfect mate, but... Akakawa just wanted to be alone. Being an omega was not a thing he enjoyed. As someone who preferred to blend in, having the scent of an unmated male omega made that difficult. That on top of heat cycles happening suddenly just made him want to never go outside. Like, ever. So he rarely did.
Whenever he ventured out of his apartment, it was never far; just to the grocery store or for late night walks when few people were out. The omega in him would always protest his actions, filling his head with insatiable desires and he would try his damnest to ignore. He usually succeeded.
This particular nightly walk was in a small park. Akakawa always enjoyed the coolness of summer nights. Without any people around, his senses didn’t get overloaded and he didn’t have to worry about alphas approaching him. That’s what he thought, at least. His guard shot up at the smell of a particularly powerful alpha approaching. He wanted to run, but for some reason he stayed rooted to the bench. Great.
