the way you looked is still vivid to me || dash and azelma
Ever since her run-in with a certain someone, Azelma’s behavior had changed rather drastically. She had found herself doing everything she could do keep her mind distracted so that she could pretend that she was still the same old person, but she wasn’t fooling anyone, especially the people closest to her.
She had become more dedicated to her work as the Worthington’s nanny; she would go out of her way to actually open up some books on history or English or any other subject, so that she could be more help whenever she was aiding the children with their homework. She had been more keen to go on daytrips with the children, and found herself creating somewhat of a bond with all of them, even the stubborn fifteen year old who deemed himself too old to still have a caretaker. Spending all of her time with these children, Azelma had found herself absolutely exhausted by the time they got back to the penthouse and asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
After a full day of walking around New York with two out of the five children continuously screaming at her head, Azelma had found herself in dire need of a night to herself. Despite the fact that she wanted to call Caroline and ask her to go out with her for a long awaited girls night out, the brunette decided against it when she realized that she wasn’t quite ready to be asked too many questions about a certain subject. She loved the redheads to bits, but in her current mindset, Azelma just wasn’t prepared to deal with any of it. As soon as the Worthington household was complete, Azelma grabbed her coat and was out the door in an instance before they could ask her for any more requests which she would have probably said yes to.
After walking around for about ten minutes, the brunette came upon a bar that seemed clean enough and had some people walking out. Deciding that that one would do, she went for the door and entered the joint, only to walk straight to he bar, ignoring everyone around it. Letting out a relieved sigh as she spotted an empty barstool, Azelma took a seat and immediately raised the bartender’s attention on her and ordered her drink.
As soon as the drink touched her lips, Azelma’s shoulders visibly relaxed and she could feel all the stress go out of her system. Having finished the drink in less than a minute, she was about to order another one when suddenly a body blocked her view of the bartender.
Feeling slightly frustrated, the brunette impatiently tapped the other person on the back. “Excuse you, I’m trying to orde- oh.” As the person in question turned around, Azelma found her words breaking off as she noticed the man’s face. Dash. “Never mind.” She spoke as she pushed herself off the stool, ready to walk away from the inevitable conversation.
