With his father being one of Jahan’s more solid clients (of the very few they had, and the even less they managed to keep in the last year) Jahan had grown closer to Jacopo, or well, as close as one might to the secretive, brooding, and intense youth. Even after month, he felt like he did not know the other well at all.
“I am heading to Rome in a few days, my fear is the road will be filled with fugitives and merchants wishing to take advantage of the situation,” they said, as they leaned back into the stone steps near the Ponte Vecchio.
