Aphelion | Hudson & Javier
Three spreadsheets, one and a half power-points, several hours of research, and two very graphic pie charts later, Hudson realized he was ready. It wasn't an easy conclusion to come to -- in fact, he was fairly certain the methodology was flawed in more ways than one -- but he knew better than to argue with results. As long as it passed peer review. After that, it was somebody else's job to disprove his work.
The trouble with a mind like Hudson's was how easy it was to get off track. The price of genius. The slightest movement could send him off on a tangent of curiosity, asking himself questions matched by his insatiable need for answers. Several hours after making his scientific discovery of the century, he was still sitting on Youtube, watching episodes of Nova that he'd never seen before.
His intention had been to go visit Hov -- that was before the sun started setting, and suddenly his desire to leave the apartment had plummeted down next to nothing. By the time he got back on cycle, realizing he hadn't accomplished the one solitary goal he'd made for himself that day, he took a couple shortcuts to expedite its future success.
[text] If you aren't too busy, I'd appreciate it if you could come over for a while.
[text] Hudson's house. This is Hudson.
With the texts sent off, Hudson leaned back in his chair, swiveling in place. His brows furrowed, eyes focusing in on a little speck of black in the very corner of the room, where roof intersected with walls. Might have been a spider. Or maybe a speck of dust. Didn't matter either way -- what did count was the new course of discovery his mind went on.
"I've probably got time," he murmured to himself, figuring a solid forty minutes before he needed to be social. And even that was assuming that Hov wanted to come over in the first place. Definitely had time for another episode of Nova, especially one called "The KGB, The Computer and Me".
