Every fiber of his being --- no matter how much he hated it --- told him that was something more behind the expensive looking shop. It didn’t help that the owner seemed to take pleasure in being a smart ass, evading every question with a snarky remark of her own. It was annoying, to say the least, and Wolf found himself losing patience quickly whenever he talking to Scarlet. Perhaps it was a side-effect of her mere presence. Whatever it was, Wolf could do well without it. There weren’t enough cigarettes in the world to make any of it bearable.
When he had walked in the shop and saw no one but the employee at the front desk and he knew it was an opportunity he had to make the most of. And so, there he was, leaning against the counter and doing his best to sway the conversation in his favor. Even if the other person was terrified of him.
“Look --- help me help you, alright? Can’t do my job if you don’t help me.” How cliché.
