this wasn’t normal. layla really wasn’t used to have dinner by herself. in fact, she honestly couldn’t remember the last time she had dinner on her on. she’d made way too much and she didn’t know what to do with all of it. she knew she wouldn’t eat it all and well, bonnie wouldn’t want to eat what she cooked if she was already out eating dinner and so, the first thing that came to mind was to ask that neighbor of hers across the hall if he’d want to join her. would that be weird? she didn’t really think so. the two of them talked a couple of times in the elevator and so this would be the same thing, except they weren’t going anywhere and the conversation would last a lot longer. she took a deep breath, shaking her head. “stop overthinking it.” she told herself and opened the front door to her apartment. she walked right up to his door and knocked, her hands locked in front of her. the moment the door swung open, her eyes met his. “uh, hey.” she waved awkwardly. she was normally more confident but something about being in the presence of her attractive neighbor flustered her. “i made way too much food. are you hungry?” she paused, nodding toward her open door. “do you, maybe, want to join me?”
