Amelia & @bonafideedgar June 24, 1984 - HQ, Infirmary
There was minimal grace when Amelia draped herself over the chair that was beside Edgar’s bed and even less as she tried to collect herself enough to pull a forced smile and take on the ‘strong older sister’ disposition she usually carried. Doing so was tougher than expected so she was quick to give a defeated sigh and try to summon a more natural seeming expression. Amelia was left emotionally and physically drained from casting Patronus after Patronus. It was an exhaustion she would happily take since it meant orders of getting some rest and didn’t require medical attention.
“Rosier told me to go easy on you,” She confessed with a shake of her head. “So I will spare you from the ‘I told you so’ speech for now.” As nervous as she was about him, the little bits and pieces of information she gained before getting the nerve to go in and see him had left her mildly impressed. There was a beat of silence then she reached out to grab Edgar’s hand, nose wrinkling at the grime that covered him, and squeeze it.
“I don’t have the energy for saying much else besides I’m proud of you and thank you for not dying on me.”
