When: Day 7 of the 75th Games, Shortly after the Arena Break out

Where: District 2 apartment, Tribute Centre

Who: Brutus and Cadence ( @subsiist )

It had all happened so fast. First Brutus and herself had just been watching the games. They'd done this a couple of times over the course of these games. She'd actually ended up watching more of it with Brutus than Thea this year. That was not a surprise though. She'd have been more shocked if Thea had been out of the mentor Lounge. She'd watched games with Brutus before though, so it felt quite normal. What wasn't normal was the screen suddenly going blank.

"What.... that's weird...." She murmured, standing to her feet as she looks at the blacked out screen in front of her. and before she was really able to process any further Thea had appeared. Before she could talk though Thea was, and Cadie was just staring at her. "Uh....." was all she said, her mind still trying to process the arena screening going black, yet alone what her mother was saying to her.

It's only when Thea is talking to Brutus that it clicks in her mind. This black out, the screen going dead wasn't a glitch. Something was happening. Thea didn't know what, but Cadence did. It was the rebellion. And well, that meant she, they, needed to get out of there. To get to safety. "Promise me you'll meet us there?" She asked, her eyes big as she looked up at her mother. "Mo....Thea.... promise me."

And then she and Brutus were out the door. They needed to act quick. Before peacekeepers were on them. Cadence looked up at her former trainer. "I..... You have to trust me Brut. I know where we need to go. I'll explain when we get there..... but we need to hurry."

Where: Hovercraft on the way back to the Tribute Centre

When: Moments after the ending of the 66th Annual Hunger Games

Who: Cadence and Brutus ( @subsiist )

She'd done it. She'd won. Cadence Kentwell had won the 66th Hunger Games. Honestly the seventeen year old was in shock. It wasn't that she'd underestimated herself. She had been full of confidence going into the games. She just hadn't wanted to think of herself in the hover on the way back. She hadn't wanted to jinx it. To jinx the opportunity that she would have to go back to her little sister. Cadie had known that even her mentors, Thea and Brutus, hadn't thought she could do it. They thought she was going to lose, that she didn't stand a chance. So, she was stood in the Hover, in a little bit of disbelief.

She also felt insanely gross. Nobody had warned her about the amount of dirt and blood that would be left on the body at the conclusion of the games. Of course part of that was her fault. The last battle, the showdown between herself her Nero hadn't had to be so bloody. It could have been a lot worse. She'd gone in to it intending to give the Capitol a show down. But after she'd thrown some strategically aimed knives, and immobilised Nero the best she could, she had decided she'd have wanted it to be fast if it was in return, and so she'd simply slit his throat. Not before Nero had gotten some hits in on her though, and she wasn't quite sure how much of the blood was actually her own.

Before she could practically take a step forward on the hover strong arms had enveloped her in a hug. She supposed if she'd had the choice, Brutus would've been who she'd picked too. Despite Thea being her mentor, Cadence knew Brutus a lot better. He'd trained her. He was the reason she was stood here, not that she would say that. Brutus already had a huge ego.

But as she stood limply returning his hug she was acutely aware that she was getting him covered in blood. "Brut.... I'm fucking gross right now...." But she was happy. She'd done it. She'd broken down all of their doubts. She'd proved them all wrong.

Cadence Kentwell was the victor of the 66h Hunger Games.

Where: District 2 apartment, Tribute Centre, Late on the 1st day of the games

Who: Cadence and Brutus ( @subsiist )

Cadence was fuming. It didn't take her a lot to get fuming. Prior to the events of the last year she generally lived in a constant state of being frustrated or angry about something. In all fairness she was pretty proud of herself for not stabbing Domi. That would have been a certain way of making sure that she did not tell on her. But, despite feeling fuming, and like she was going to burst, she had attempted to control herself. She didn't trust Domi enough to not actually tell on her. She'd entertained the stylists, and played the good girl act, for a while, before escaping to Thea's room to watch the games for a while. It was just a shame that her Mama wasn't there for Cadie to moan too.

She'd gone out to get herself a glass of water when another familiar mentor appeared in the apartment. She hadn't been expecting Brutus to show up at the apartment. But it was an opportune moment. "Hi Brut." Cadie murmured, leaning against the counter as she looked up at her former mentor. Brutus had been one of Cadie's trainers during the academy. They'd known each other a long time.

"Just to give the heads up that Domi apparently wants to ruin the cool set up we have up hear by reporting my presence."
