A quiet night in the city. An easy assignment that hadn't taken her long at all. Decent weather for walking.
Izumi wasn't at all used to things going so smoothly.
She walked in a slow, care-free kind of way that felt almost foreign to her, but it was nice. The road was a long, narrow one lined with trees, a connector between neighborhoods. She would have been better off driving or running, but she wasn't in a hurry to leave that calm silence behind.
Well, near silence; every once in a while, she honed in on the sound of rustling leaves or footsteps over the ground, but it was mostly animals. Nothing that she needed to worry about... or so she told herself.

"Oh, uh--" she fumbled over her words awkwardly, stomach giving another needy growl. "--your food looks really good. Could you spare a bite?"

Arthur kept his hand tense over his weapon as he crept about the back-alleys. He winced at one point when he accidentally crunched over some broken glass, but thankfully nothing seemed to be attracted by the sound. He resisted the urge to sigh in relief. He was on edge, hungry, somewhat dehydrated and lacking sleep. He needed to find somewhere to rest, or pretty soon the zombies might end up as the least of his problems.
He heard the slow, soft shuffle of footsteps behind him, and whipped about, holding his crowbar tensely in his hands, prepared to swing out at whatever, or whoever, was behind him. In these days, a human could be just as fatal as a zombie.
