12. Is there a wedding? What was the proposal like? Any kind of honeymoon?
Flo and Lenny never really talked about getting married. There were always more recent things that took off their attention - growing up together, living together, playing together for the same club, going separate ways after realizing that there is no future in Bremen for both of them, getting into a long distance relationship, facing the harsh reality of drifting apart more and more with every mile between them and lastly never giving up on each other no matter how hard it is. Every doubt was followed by the realization that there is simply no one who brings out the best (and the worst) in each other.
So one day hey are laying next to each other on Lennys patio, enjoying the summer break. Flo is nearly dozing of, when Lenny asks him “Do you wanna marry me?” His voice is steady and it takes Flo some seconds to get what hes been asked. He opens his eyes and stares at Lenny, who just looks at him with a genuine simile on his face. “I”, Flo stutters, “what?” Lenny laughs and Flos stomach flutters by the sound of it. “Do you wanna marry me”, he repeats plain and simple.
Flo shakes his head, “Oh my god, I cant believe that this is how you propose. Nobodys gonna believe that - our poor grandchildren will wait for a sappy and romantic story and this is all we got.”
“Its a yes then?”
“Of course, yeah”, Flo says uncomprehending, “as if I would say no.” Lenny gets up from his sunlounger, sits on Flos hips and kisses him softly with a bright smile on his face. “I thought about making it big, you know”, he mumbles on Flos lips, then he moves away a tiny bit, “but it woudnt fit and well, you looked so happy, relaxed and content and I just couldnt help myself but think that this is exactly what I want in the future. You beside me.” Flo looks at him with bright eyes, his cheeks are red. “Youre unbelievable”, Flo says and kisses Lenny again.Their wedding was way more conventional. It was a cloudy day in Bremen when they kissed each other for the first time as a married couple. They celebrated with their closest friends and family, it was an amazing day. The honeymoon followed shortly after, 10 days in Thailand. The weather was great, they enjoyed the sun and the knowledge, that nobody knew who they are.
