I realized I never?? Actually introduced my trainersona/self-insert properly? Oops! So here's a quick updated ref sheet of them!

Expanded lore of whatever I wrote on the sheet is below, but feel free to ask me anything in my ask box :)

Thry is a Pokémon conservationist specializing in Pokémon habitats and ecology! Their family moved to Galar when he was barely a toddler, so they grew up completely surrounded by Galarian culture— participating in the Gym Challenges, Dynamaxing/Gigantamaxing, etc. After collecting all of the Gym Badges, they decided to retire from Pokémon battling (it was just too much, frankly) and pursue research/conservation instead. With all the Wild Areas in Galar, he spent a significant amount of time as a Lab Assistant to Professor Magnolia and Sonia. After a while, Thry eventually left Galar to travel the world and learn more about conservation techniques and new Pokemon, from Kanto to Paldea.

It's also how they got their hands on a mega-stone, and given that Dynamaxing doesn't really work outside of Galar, it comes in handy in a tight pinch! Eventually, Thry makes his way back to his family's original region, Unova, to understand what life was like for Pokemon in Unova's developed landscapes. Their current research is on the wild conservation of Pokemon habitat and migration patterns with growing urban development... which is how they meet Cheren much later hehe

Most of the Pokemon on their team are specifically for helping with their research and fieldwork moreso than battling nowadays... but Applin will always be their #1 partner in crime <3

Also, a few tidbits here from the ref sheet and other (I'm sorry this shit is so disorganized lmao):

LIKES: apples, hydrangeas, studying Pokemon, gardening

DISLIKES: tardiness, cooking (unless it's soup or something basic, like curry)

HABITS: chews on pens and pencils, constantly taps nails on surfaces, workaholic, runs into walls and lampposts

No amount of adventures and worldwide traveling ever prepared Thry in this kind of feeling. They were never the bravest between the two of them despite the shenanigans they got into. Always the first to turn away and run. But this time, Cheren made sure there was nowhere to hide for once

oh god... I feel like neither of them would be very good at gifts (Thry certainly is not). Maybe flowers, since it's the most traditional/classic route to take. Though they both have very different ideas about the appropriate number of flowers to get is

Thry would probably get a few pretty tulips directly from their garden + a nice heartfelt card. Cheren gets too tongue-twisted when it comes to expressing his ✨feelings✨, so a giant bouquet seems like a safe bet to him! A nice dinner, a walk down the pier, and that's Valentine's for them!
