The Thun Panorama is the oldest panorama still existing. It was painted by the Swiss painter Marquard Wocher from 1809 until 1814 and shows the city of Thun. In the beginning, it was shown in a building in basel, but after Wocher died, the city of Basel gave the painting to Thun, where it fell in oblivion, only being ‘rediscovered’ in the late 1950s when it got restored. It is now exhibited in Thun again, in a specially built building
