Since I recently got a microscope, naturally I’ve been focused on collecting rocks which look super neat under a microscope! Here is a particularly intricate little thunderegg agate.
The colors and patterns of this agate look like a colorful nebula in space! Who’d have thought such a small rock could contain so many cool details? Agates are amazing!!
Quartz fusions!
Blue lace agate + banded Amethyst = Thunderegg Agate
Biggs Jasper + Ocean Jasper = Leopard skin Jasper
Reblogs + likes are greatly appreciated!
Been seeing a lot of people making SU characters based of the canon gem designs and I thought it would be fun to try it out too! It’s like super super late so I’m not gonna get too deep with them character wise but:
-This Lapis Lazuli uses her water powers to form her head (her gemstone is at the end of her neck) and she needs to maintain constant control of herself to keep it formed.
-The Color Changing Sapphire is a fusion between a Sapphire and Padparadscha Sapphire. The regular Sapphire gets overwhelmed when looking into the future and the Padparadscha Sapphire keeps her grounded in the present. She changes colors based on who is using their powers.
-Orange Zircon is everyone’s least favorite Zircon as she constantly bs’s her way through all her trials which she only ends up winning because no one has any idea what she’s talking about.
-Thunderegg Agate is basically a babysitter Agate: she watches certain groups of gems when their usual Agate is called elsewhere. She is very tired.
Anyway hope you enjoy them! Sorry they came out so sketchy, I didn’t like any line work I tried to do for them so I ended up just cleaning up the initial sketches (for varying degrees of success).
A thunderegg is a spherical or ovoid concretion of silica (usually chalcedony) that often contains a cavity lined with crystals, typically a
Thundereggs look like ordinary rocks on the outside but are remarkable for their insides. When cut in half, they reveal intricate patterns, often with agate, jasper, or opal, surrounded by a rhyolite shell. These internal patterns can be in the form of beautiful, sometimes star-shaped or other geometric designs.
Some more of the canon designed gem characters! Started out as a silly little idea but it just kept going and got all the gems involved, including the new Over-Cooked Ruby! Kinda based on the idea of what would happen if a gem type that’s already pretty small got over-cooked like Amethyst? The Ruby here is about half the height of a regular Ruby.
This one’s going up pretty late like the other one but I hope you guys still enjoy!
Got a fusion request for Lapis Lazuli + Color Changing Sapphire and Orange Zircon + Thunderegg Agate from @amethystev so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to doodle them out! Didn’t do other sketches with them but I do like how they look! I might have made Zircon and Agate’s fusion look a liiitle too cleanly fused (they wouldn’t last too long fused together tbh).
