Side Characters
These are the additional characters in each Union.
Shattergarde - Vulpes
A fairly large party split into several smaller friend groups. Nagare's subsection includes...
Crest
A non-binary keykid using they/them pronouns, Crest is the effective ‘leader’ of the group, despite their low rank in the greater party. They wield Sleeping Lion’s third upgrade in battle, and take a very dainty stance in combat. They love helping others, and help Nagare bring food across borders on numerous occasions.
Jasper
The youngest of the group, Jasper uses he/him pronouns and bears a higher rank in the main party than Crest. He wields Darkgnaw’s second upgrade, but doesn’t like combat itself. He prefers to talk through his problems with others, especially when it could turn sour so easily.
Geo
Nobody knows much about Geo. Pronouns, gender, age? All of it is up in the air with this pumpkin-helmed keykid. They wield Treasure Trove’s fourth upgrade in battle, and seem eager to fight, no matter who they’re against. Perhaps something more sinister lies beneath their crown, or perhaps that occasionally-flicking red tail belies their true nature.
Chloe
Despite how it may seem, Chloe is the oldest of the group. She’s bubbly and excitable, but knows when to be serious, too. She wields Fairy Stars at its second stage, but prefers to fight with her hands if she has to fight at all.
Thunderstars - Unicornis
A party of five lead by Zekai, primarily for the purpose of delivering food across borders without getting caught. This party includes...
Miriam
Easily-dejected as she is, Miriam is just as easy to perk up. Just tell her about a pegasus she might see, and she’ll be bright-eyed and ready in a jiffy! She wields Olympia’s fourth upgrade in battle, and is Zekai’s right hand. A bold girl with her own affections for her leader, she’s willing to step into his role when he disappears.
Pascal
Pun intended, Pascal is a very sweet and loving boy. His older brother has a reputation as a chocolatier, so he spends his time ‘advertising’ for the family business. He wields Diamond Dust in battle, but doesn’t do much fighting, so it’s only the base form. But while he can’t fight, he can certainly sew!
Kassie
Though she has a kind appearance, and looks like someone you could trust with your Neopets password, Kassie is anything but. She’s a troublemaker, and seems eager to cause people harm. She wields Fenrir’s fourth upgrade in battle, and is rarely seen without it due to how often she fights.
Alex
A very kind young man brandishing a staff instead of a Keyblade when the opportunity arises, Alex absolutely loves helping others. Despite his threatening looks, he’s not threatening at all- anyone who’s met him can attest to this. He only wields Missing Ache’s base form in battle because he was told he needed something to keep him safe.
Cthulhu's Aposte - Leopardos
Based on my original, real KHUX party, Ryunami's group is a bit odd in terms of leadership. However, it includes...
Phantom
The leader of the party in actions, but never in name. Phantom has a competitive spirit and loves to join Ryunami in battle. Like her proper in-game counterpart, Phantom wields Stroke of Midnight’s fourth upgrade in battle. Her skill with magic is unparalleled, but her raw power is somewhat lacking.
Maastie
The proper leader of the party in name and title, Maastie is a gentle soul who rarely, if ever, organizes any sort of group activity. They love to talk, though- it’s often all they do! So much so that their third-stage Three Wishes is very rarely seen. Despite their sly look, they’re incredibly friendly, and want nothing more than to help out.
Menx
Menx is the organizer of the group, and is a leader in his own right. He transferred from Ursus when Maastie first chose her Union, therein dropping his party’s rank by a fair margin. There’s some speculation that his name is like those of the Nobodies in their medals, but he ignores these allegations. He wields a fourth-stage Missing Ache in battle, and insists that people are ‘reaching’ when they imply it has a meaning.
Prince Rooibos
The only thing most people know about Prince Rooibos is his title. His name isn’t even known by his party members. But he’s here, and he’s perfectly fine with being unknown. He wields Sleeping Lion’s second stage in battle, and has been known to fight with a backhanded style, similar to Ventus.
Sacrificed Embers - Ursus
A band of misfits brought together under Inokosu's leadership. Though close, their bond feels as though it could fall apart at any moment. They consist of...
Roselia
The youngest in the party, Roselia has taken it upon herself to poke a little fun at the older wielders. She’s fairly carefree despite their circumstances, and seems to harbor affections for the party’s leader, though it’s uncertain if he returns them. She wields Counterpoint’s second upgrade in battle, and specifically tries to play into her party’s strengths.
Icarus
Even Icarus couldn’t tell you where he came from. According to him, to be on two feet is uncomfortable. But he’s doing his best. He has a lot of trouble with his first-stage Treasure Trove, and would much rather avoid combat as a result. But he has been known to bite people if he can’t swing his blade. Be careful.
Leana
Roselia’s older sister and an excellent craftswoman, Leana is well-known across every Union’s territory for her clothcraft. She has dabbled in almost very craft, yet still remains best at sewing. She doesn’t fight often, and only wields a first-stage Starlight. Despite her inherent lack of combat prowess, she still has a personal relationship with a former Lux-collecting powerhouse, and often receives gifts from Leopardos as a result.
Nebri
When Menx left Ursus, his place in his party was filled quickly by Nebri. He played up his story well, how his party had disappeared save himself. His glittering crimson eyes and soft voice won Inokosu over, and he was allowed into the party. Nebri wields a third-stage Darkgnaw, and seems to be terrified of Master Aced. He seems to have an ulterior motive for everything he does, and people aren’t sure if he can really be trusted.
Quiet of the Serene - Anguis
The party associated with Anguis only gathers when Eileen is around, and they don't seem very close. They consist of...
Lucian
A brash, hotheaded boy with a heart of gold. Lucian doesn’t quite know what he’s doing, but he’s pretty sure it’s his best. He wields Darkgnaw’s fourth upgrade in battle. Really, though, he doesn’t like combat all that much- he’s just along for the ride.
Melody
Though not her REAL name, Melody is well known across Daybreak Town, similar to Leana. She’s known for her music and her roving band of herself and three non-wielders. She wields Counterpoint’s third upgrade in battle, alongside her own songs for dramatic effect. She’s fairly close with Ryunami, who likes to listen to her performances.
Lux
A keykid whose name is not, in fact, from the pure, crystallized light that she’s been made to collect. That was an unfortunate accident. She wields a second-stage Starlight in battle. Her disdain for the desert is the only thing keeping Three Wishes out of her hands.
Silver
An over-energetic girl who was simply too much for most parties in Vulpes, She collects stray Chirithies like some people would collect cats. Silver wields a second-stage Diamond Dust in battle, but isn’t too great at magic despite this. In reality, she’s more concerned with her Chirithy rescue.
The Lupulelli - Outsiders
A small group of survivors from Luxu's experiments with magic, most of whom are older than the notion of Unions. They are...
Nandalia
A girl taken in the first wave of recruitment for Luxu’s personal ‘union.’ She was given fire magic, which burnt her face and left her blind. However, she can ‘see’ ghosts. She’s gentle and kind, but also incredibly protective. Regrettably, she lost her Keyblade with her sight, but used to wield Three Wishes.
Langley
Also taken in the first recruiting wave, Langley was used for a similar experiment. The sounds of the magic infused in him, wild and ferocious, ultimately took his hearing. He can still communicate with ghosts, but relies on Nandalia to know where they are. He can no longer fight for himself, and seems to always be cold- perhaps the magic took more than just his hearing. Thankfully, Nandalia seems to always be warm- they balance each other out, as they have for hundreds of years.
Enora
The only one to survive the second recruiting wave, Enora was a lucky near-failure. Her soul was bound to a metal star in Emrys’s possession, but her physical form was lost. Mortals cannot see or touch her. She is still hopelessly in love with Emrys, and if his sorrow means anything, he feels the same, even all these centuries later. Perhaps someday, they’ll be able to share these feelings with one another.
Mayan
A very new addition to the Lupulelli, Mayan is a boy with extremely potent magic, but no Keyblade. He was bequeathed a copy of Starlight, but it never came to his hand- the offer of strength was made, and he accepted with no hesitation. Later on, he helped a Unionless Wielder out of the forest. He was impressed by her strength, but didn’t catch her name. However, he’s not about to just not look for her- the lack of knowledge only makes him want to see her more.
