Blizzard Island Rescue Team Medley // Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time & Darkness (2007)
"Another rescue mission in the bag! The Magnemite are safe!" This piece illustrates a scene from the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team games where the main characters rescue two Magnemites stuck in a cave. When I created this piece, I wasn't aware that you couldn't choose a partner the same type as the main character, hence the Psyduck and Totodile duo. So, for this one let's imagine it takes place in a universe where same-type partnerships are legal.😉 Artwork Description: Digitally colored pencil artwork featuring a Psyduck and a Totodile in the foreground seen from the back observing four Magnemite, one of which is expressing gratitude for being rescued. Behind the Magnemite is the entrance to a cave.
Nelvana and Keahi, have you ever gotten any odd requests for missions? If not, which mission was the hardest for you to complete?
I’m... not exactly sure what you mean by “odd requests” here. I guess sometimes there are fetch quests asking for something that’s really easy to find around here, like an oran berry, but that’s all I can really think of.
Hardest mission to complete... I’m not that sure of this either! We’ve always been a capable team, and when we had just started we always made sure to pick missions that we could handle.
Our second escort mission was a bit of a challenge though. It was a pidgey wanting to go through Thunderwave Cave to visit a friend. We had a pretty good feel for that dungeon by then, so we figured that it would be alright despite our client’s typing, especially with Nel’s lightning rod ability.
And then the pidgey spent the entire dungeon hopping straight over to each and every dungeon pokemon. We stopped being the ones leading that mission and were just chasing after our client so that they wouldn’t get hurt! Nelvana even suggested just carrying Pidgey, but they were very much against that idea... for some reason.
There was a different mission where we were sent to rescue a poliwag in Sinister Woods, but they had decided to swim out in the middle of this big pond in the dungeon and wouldn’t come over to us. I had to swim out there to grab them instead, but only after we spent a good half hour trying to locate them in the first place.
my (possible?) favorite game soundtrack ever. prepare for spam
