The Fault In Our Stars

Review:

The movie “The Fault In Our Stars” is based book written by John Green going with the same title. The story is about two teenagers- Hazel Green Lancaster (Shailene Woodley) and Augustus Waters (Angel Elgort)- both fighting their own cancers. Slowly, life-loving and joyful Augustus and sad and lonely Hazel, fall in love. Taking each other’s pains away, except one that is meant to take their lives. They decide to go meet someone who holds great importance in Hazel’s life. They grow, live a little, learn to love, have a sweet little adventure of their own. But what happens when things so horribly wrong? How do Augustus and Hazel survive? Watch the movie to know better.

My View: John Green is one of my favourite authors, he may write depressing books but every book has a deep meaning in it that somehow makes me wonder less about ‘Loss’. I think it’s a very absurd concept. How does a living walking, talking, loving, caring, human being just stop doing all those things all at once? How does one cease to exist? Coping up with loss is one of the most difficult tasks I know. And though all his books have a small part of loss and pain in them, he never makes us forget about laughter and love. He shows us how people cope with loss.This book is no different. I absolutely love both the movie and the book. Augustus is such a wise character, Hazel on the other end is no different. Green makes us fall in love with each word he has written, with every character he made. And that’s the beauty of being a writer and reading a book, you laugh and cry and love and hate but you always come out of a book, full of joy and love or tears in your eyes and anger about the ending. I think it’s all worth it. Watch and read and grow, lovely readers, it’s a true privilege :-)

No cancer is “good” cancer! I struggle every day with this illness and I can tell you now it is painful, it is scary and at times it is debilitating. I am okay, and I am happy in the knowledge that my survival is almost guaranteed but ALMOST is the key word.

Please check your neck, and if something doesn’t feel right make sure you FIGHT until someone figures out why. You know your body better than anyone.

Hi everyone, I’m happy to be back and I apologise if i’ve been away for a long time. Here’s the truth, last year I got diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and I took some time away to focuss on my health and my treatment. I would like to share with you guys, my journey.

We often don’t talk about the things that remind us how fragile we can be as human beings. I personally have always been an emotional person. I feel and look at the world from a different perspective. I’ve never once thought of it as a weakness but more of a virtue, to feel and understand what the world is trying to tell you. When I was first diagnosed with Thyroid cancer, i remember crying for weeks. I was told that I was lucky enough that it was only thyca and that it was considered “the good cancer”. I couldn’t understand how good and cancer could go on a sentence. I am still here living my life the best I can and I am thankful that I am still able to do it. We are all human trying our best to do what we can with what life has dealt us. Do I give myself credit for being strong enough? NO. I used to cry every day at how lost and scared I was. It’s okay to feel scared, but it is also okay to know that sometimes we don’t realize how strong we are until it’s the only option. This changes you. I don’t admit how frustrating it is to have one just little pill control how you feel everyday and how your life depends on it for life. I won’t admit that they were days that you just don’t feel like trying. I will admit how my mother and my boyfriend played an important role in my journey. They say love can take you through any adversity because it does. Dan words will always be of uplifting to me, “Don’t worry baby, I got you through bad and good. We will get through this or anything.” We are human. We are allowed to be scared, confused, upset and sometimes unmotivated but we are also allowed to feel happy, confident and proud of how we take an approach at the world. This is me, three months after surgery and two months after RAI. My body is different, I am still trying to understand the new me and it’s okay because I have a whole life ahead me to love myself and challenge myself. My scar is small, sometimes untraceable but it’s a story that run deep.

My best friend has cancer

It’s metastasized from her thyroid to her lung.

Her chemo has been increased in dose and frequency. And even with health insurance she can’t afford the $200 per chemo copay. She keeps trying to go to work in retail, and ends up sick as shit. Maybe someone on here will see my plea... please. Please someone help my best friend. Ive donated all i can. Below is her paypal pool. The money ONLY goes to cancer costs. Please help. Shes my bridesmaid. Shes a mom. Shes three years sober despite all this bullshit. A girl i know just got a random $300 donation from a stranger for concert tickets. It makes me sick someone can get over $1000 for Taylor Swift concert tickets... yet a wonderful woman can’t get lifesaving care.
