From Hak Ja Han on October 1st: In Jin's Affair is Your Fault!
When we look honestly at our situation today, however, we can see that we didn’t do our responsibilities correctly. As we know, some of the True Children’s issues have become very serious in the United States. Though it is true that the True Children are accountable for their own portion of responsibility, the fact that such a tragic thing occurred is something that all leaders must take some responsibility for, because it happened while you were there. According to the Principle True Father's mission was primarily to embrace and love the Cain children of the world more than his own. Because of that the True Children were often neglected. Because of the complete commitment that Father made to the public mission, True Children sometimes asked, “Is Father our father or father of the leaders?” Father rarely could sit down with the children because a condition had to be set to deny himself and his family completely while focusing on the rest of the families of our church and the world. Father never explained why he had to walk such a path in public life. To try to compensate for this, True Father assigned three of the 36 couples to take a special role in caring for our three eldest children. (There was a providential reason for this, connected to the role of the archangels in the Garden of Eden.) It was their responsibility, on behalf of True Parents, to make sure the children could gain the proper foundation. However, the three primary couples couldn’t fulfill that mission properly. Of course, the True Children have their own five percent portion of responsibility, and no one can do that for them. Yet if the 36 couples who had been assigned that mission could have fulfilled it, then the True Children’s path could surely be more likely to succeed. The fact that they couldn't do this is one of the reasons why the first-born True Children were easily confused and misled. I found myself called to stand with True Father in every situation, and by condition I could not intervene or help them in their responsibility either, we had to deny ourselves and our family for the sake of the world. If True Children had grown up with the proper education, and perhaps if they had stayed in Korea, it may have been easier for them. Yet as you know, in obedience to God's providence, Father brought our family to America in 1974. As soon as we arrived in America, True Parents began to make every possible condition for America, touring the nation many, many times. True Father and I had to unfold and develop the providence relating to the whole world, working from America. True Parents were bound by the Principle to put the world and all of the Cain children of the world first. We couldn’t even eat meals with the children alone, always representatives of the Cain world had to sit closest to True Parents. When the True Children went to school they were often bullied and persecuted, externally because they were Asians, and internally because they were True Parents’ children. At that time Asian and other minority children were not welcomed in many schools in America, especially where we lived. True Parents suffered great anguish and sorrow that we could not intervene in the course of the children but could only try to educate and love others. A few years ago, when one of the eldest children's life became very difficult, I cried out to Father and was deeply worried. I asked Father, “What can we do?” but he told me that even though our children were going through great suffering and were being attacked, we still had to focus first on the children outside of our own family. He would encourage me, saying "Mother, though our children suffer now because we are sacrificing our lives and our family for the world, God will eventually set the condition to redeem them." Since Father’s first mission was to take care of the children of the world, those children in Cain's position were loved before and more than Father's own children. So even though it is understandable that people will criticize and blame the True Children for some of their actions, I ask that those who have received True Love from True Parents, although in the Cain position, that you please remember this principle. Knowing that because of God's strict principle you received True Parent's love first, it is important to love and embrace the children of True Parents when they go through difficulty. As the extended family of True Parents that you please remind others that we don't really have the condition to condemn anyone, for as Jesus said, "He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone." From this strict principle, even though we are hurting, we don't have the right from heaven’s perspective, to casually pass judgment on the True Children. Why? This is True Parents’ realm of responsibility. Though Father and I anguish over the path some of them have taken, only True Parents can restore them if they went astray, through the principle of indemnity. Father is working now from heaven to correct everything on earth and in heaven through the Principle.
Bill Miho is at it again. Revealing how superficial his religion is and how willing he is to have no integrity whatsoever. Nevertheless, In Jin and Jin Sung claimed to be a couple for all the years of her ministry so her relations with Ben Lorentzen were out of line and immoral no matter what. I also do not know if you could consider their blessing legitimate. I could watch Rev. Moon bless people on a screen with my girlfriend and perhaps be very sincere about it... but it does not count. Nevertheless, for you to deny that In Jin truly was with Farrant is a straight up lie and you know it. But you've lost all sense of having a conscience years ago. Lyin' for the Lord is what you do best, huh?
Now to Patricia--stop accusing her when she has been basically quiet on the public forums. She is not in a public position or in much need to defend herself. Patricia left the building before security came and she was never violent to Ben. He actually her her out of the threshold of the flat because he simply did not want to talk to her. When she resisted his aggression, he twisted his finger and thus blame her afterwards for being violent. This immature behavior is not at all unique for Ben or an isolated case. Miho was not there that day and has no idea what he is talking about. After that mess, Ben and Bill were waiting for Patricia at her door saying that she had to pack up and leave by midday. They said if she was not gone, they would come back with security to throw her out.
And shit, did you just say Benjanim? What the hell? This perhaps one of the creepiest defenses of the church I have ever read.
Ballroom dancing and pop culture
A previous poster expressed the following concern: "My worst fear is that In Jin was using ballroom dance to make kids become physically more intimate so that more of them would end up in situations similar to her." I really do not think that this was an actual conspiracy. Lovin Life sermons and the whole approach to ministry had a pop culture, rock concert feel. The band is good, but the songs often had little or no religious content and really were not relevant to a worship service. The sermons came off more as sharing sessions than actual sermons and pop culture icons like Harry Potter were sometimes employed to interpret the Bible. Such works were often given more attention than the Bible itself.
In Jin seems to be more at home in a pop culture environment than in a strict religious setting. Her sermons certainly show an intimate familiarity with American pop culture. Given that, and the fact that her daughter excelled in ballroom dancing, there really is no need to reach for conspiracy theories to explain the role that this activity played in her approach to ministry. I always found it a bit shallow and was a little disappointed that the switch from a relatively austere approach to religion to an "I'm OK, Your OK" approach was hardly questioned. I could see lightening up a little, but the new approach went too far.
Ben Lorentzen Admitting to the Affair and Thoughts on In Jin Moon's Affair
As if the certificate wasn’t enough confirmation here is direct text between myself and Ben Lorentzen on Facebook today.
Me: "Ben,
I’ve heard some unbelievable rumor. I know that you and I don’t know one another, personally, but is this true? I am NOT placing judgement. I just HATE rumors and wish to understand the truth."
Ben Lorentzen: "Hi. In Jin Nim and I are a couple. We have a son. We do not go out now in respect for Fathers Sunghwa, but we will once things have quiet down a little and the appropriate time has arrived. "
I don’t have a “dog in the fight” so to speak. I’m not a follower of Rev. Moon, but we do attend this church. My wife, however, has been in the movement for more than 20 years. So, none of this brings a smile to my face because I do like the attempt the church makes in bringing people together, breaking down barriers, etc.
However, I’ve been a staunch believer that you should never put people on a pedestal because it’s impossible to REALLY know them. I don’t do this for athletes, musicians, and certainly not religious leaders. There are myriad examples of how these people will simple prove to be…….human. Furthermore, I’ve always disagreed with the ”business” of organized religion. How do you sell faith? How do you amass wealth with faith as your product? In this case the real issue is that it’s clear that people at the top put the $$ ahead of the membership…..better to cover up and deceive than kill the golden goose, right?
Whom do you roll out next? Whomever it is can’t be believed, can they? After all, it’s known that these affairs have been known about for a long time. So, just about anyone from the leadership ranks that walks up to the pulpit is just as bad as In Jin herself, right?
It’s really sad, though, because a lot of people have put their faith in this movement. They have invested a lot of money in this movement! A lot of them have essentially sacrificed their children by burying this faith in their kids’ heads (before they’re old enough to challenge it).
…….and how about the kids that really look up to the people at LLM in New York?
