I hate it when people only want you to listen and don’t care what you have to say.
I was really pissed! I wasn't at the time because my brain was mostly going 'okay dude please leave now so I can eat my fries' but afterwards I was like...what the hell?! He would ask my questions and then twist my answers and say I actually meant this, so I must believe this, shit like that. And if I challenged him at all, he would just interrupt me and repeat what he had just said.
And this really pisses me off, I'm going to share it because it's just ridiculous. He brought up the whole thing with God having to punish sinners and Jesus coming down to die on the cross and used this scenario to illustrate it. He talked about this society where any sort of crime, no matter how small, was punishable by death. But the guy who executed people would be willing to die in your place because he loved you. We've had systems like this, (minus the loving dude) justice systems where any crime was prosecuted extremely harshly no matter what the circumstance. And those systems are viewed as barbaric to us. Hell, there's a fucking musical about someone committing a fairly small crime and having his life utterly ruined because of it-this little thing called Les Mis. Rulers and governments don't get away with that shit, why can God do it and we worship him for it? Also the whole 'I love you and I'm going to take this for you' thing doesn't make sense; if you really cared about people, you wouldn't set up a system like that in the first place.
I'm sorry for just ranting on like that, I'm still upset about the bullshit he threw at me. And what's really annoying is that he told me he was conducting a survey and that's why I started talking to him-fucking liar.
