If you are a tidy person considering living with someone new, do yourself a favor.. Go to where they live now, unannounced (don't give them a chance to clean up), and if you wouldn't feel comfortable moving right into that space as is, do NOT live with them! And for the love of anything you may hold sacred, do not marry them. It will NEVER get better. It might take a while, but every bit of affection you held will slowly be smothered out of you from the ceaseless cleaning, and perceived disrespect of your time, space, and person.. until you just want an end. What form that end comes in depends on the day.

Double sorting is so fast!

I once heard that you should sort books twice. First, into major groups. Then into the order you actually want them in. So if you’re sorting by author name, sort them into A-F, G-L, M-R, S-Z.

This sounded like a waste of time to me. Wouldn’t it be faster to just sort them once?

Well, today I had to sort 30 socks. Every pair had a unique design. There were four overall colors.

Instead of hunting through and finding each pair’s mate, I sorted by major color.

That made it super fast to find the matches!
