Tierney
PUT A NAME IN MY ASK AND I’LL TALK ABOUT SOMEONE I KNOW/ONCE KNEW WITH THAT NAME.
Little second-grader!me wandered into Ms. Cochran's classroom in a floral skirt and a green t-shirt and these really adorable white shoes that a lot of little kids tend to wear -- y'know, the ones with the cut-outs and flowers that you wear with cute little frilly socks? So I showed up to her first day of school at Albany Avenue, and she got welcomed by the class but I was still so afraid of everything that was going on, as I'd never been to public school, and I'd been in an E.R. for a freaking panic attack a few nights prior. Fortunately though? There was an empty seat next to a kid named Ryan, and across from a girl named Tierney.
Throughout the next few years, we got really close, and had it not been for her, I know for a fact that my transition to Long Island would not have gone as smoothly as it did.
We grew up though, and we grew apart. Middle school meant different classes and new friend groups, but that was okay. We kept in touch, and we checked in with each other from time-to-time.
And then in high school, I was in the musical freshman year, and we started talking more regularly again -- but we had no classes together, and we really haven't had any classes together since elementary school. Maybe one here or there, but nothing significant. Gym was fun though, remember that? And our shitty Virgin Mobile phones? We wave at each other during the 3 minutes between classes, still, which is nice. (She's always smiling, and how can't you smile back?)
Now that we've both figured out that we're gay as fuck, though? We're talking a little more, here and there, and it's nice to be in touch again; it's nice to have something in common, and it's nice to know we can pick things up again, even if we fall out of it for a little while. c:
