Tiffany Benson, Burju Diva & Professional Dancer
Dance Artisan. Muse. Founder of The Tiff School
BURJU: What does it mean to you to #btruebyou? TIFFANY: In my experience, #btruebyou means holding on tightly to your TRUE passion and allowing the drive and tenacity for it to come effortlessly because in a place like that, it really becomes easier to tune into your own expectations for happiness and less of everyone else’s.
BURJU: How would you describe yourself in one word? TIFFANY: That's a tough one. A great friend and mentor gave one to me recently that I really like – prodigious! (Thanks, Liz M.)
BURJU: What is your inspiration behind your dance? TIFFANY: EVERYTHING. It could be a person, a song, or something random I see on the train even. As a visual person, I’m especially sensitive towards the beauty present in my everyday surroundings because it cultivates interest and sparks inspiration for my creative directing work.
BURJU: How would you describe your style of fashion? TIFFANY: I simply like to think of myself as being an "urban hipster". Fashion wise, I do like to be versatile –especially when mixing traditional and contemporary pieces together because then possibility for creative, spontaneous outfits are endless! No matter what I throw on, however; my confidence is my biggest staple because I have to feel great in what I wear. And anyone who really knows me, knows that I am a HUGE fragrance aficionado. In my eyes, fashion and fragrance are hand-in-hand. Currently, I've been rocking and loving Creed Original Santal, glossy red lips, retro Jordans, and my vintage 10-year old jean jacket. Lol, this is tried and true urban hipster flow at its best!
BURJU: If you were stranded on an island, what 3 things/people would you bring? TIFFANY: My Chanel lip gloss... (I cannot be without it), a smart and willing companion.. (preferably a hot, dreamy, handsome man), and of course, my iPhone... (so when I'm ready, I can get the hell out of there). #weOut
