Tiger Lion return with new snippet of perfect mesmerising escapism 'Black Sea'
It all started in the deep waters of northern Europe, navigating in between islands and mountains like a flowing stream. 'Black Sea’ is the story of a stream of consciousness - unlocking emotions, longing for powerful sea bodies, waiting for the presence of a loved one and taking inspiration from Hokusai’s profound Prussian blue.
The track is creating its own reality, marrying deep analogue synth sounds with samples of drums from an imaginary country. In the shimmering of these dark fluids we can see the mirage of a love song, an ode to geographical separations and quest for connection.
Fragment of an archipelago, this song will be part of an album exploring the relationship between bodies and landscapes, through a journey in the Land of the Rising Sun.

‘Black Sea’ comes with two inventive remixes – the transcendental kraut-pop of French based Samba De La Muerte and a clever exploration of textures by Tiiva.

Tiger Lion are a (mainly) French trio based in North London, fronted by writer and visual artist, Clémentine Blue. Their distilled melodies flourish from St Vincent's asymmetrical purity to Tame Impala's hypnotic riffing intensity and crackle with Throwing Muses' bruised, cardiac fire across organic canvasses inspired by Blake and Turner.
With two thematic EPs and single releases earlier in 2018 Tiger Lion prepare to launch ‘Black Sea’ in a remarkable bid nearer to capturing that perfectly imperfect dreampop sound. Video director Victoria Fiore explains,
“The core idea of the video came from Tiger Lion's concepts behind the track; she describes deep, dark waters that can draw you in, but also drown, and while she describes waiting for that loved one - I felt that the loved one was in fact oneself.
I loved the idea of Clementine being enveloped and taken over by the waves, but only after sleepwalking out of a disorientating, neon-filled dreamscape. The visual influences of Wong Kar Wai 's alien urban environments and shooting at 8 frames per second gave us the license to recreate this other world where we are furthest away from ourselves - a space which gives us no other choice but to find our way back home.”

Tiger Lion - Let It Go
Mike VI has been diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma.
“Mike VI is one of only two live tiger college mascots in the U.S. He is the only live tiger living on a college campus in the U.S.”
“His veterinary team, led by Dr. David Baker, has come up with a treatment plan that will hopefully extend his life for another one to two years. Without treatment, LSU said he would die in one to two months.
Mike VI's treatment plan includes a "new and highly sophisticated form" of radiation therapy called stereotactic radiotherapy.
SRT delivers radiation to the tumor in a highly focused manner, LSU said, sparing surrounding, normal tissues so complications are reduced. Treatment may be given as a single, high dose or as fractionated doses given daily for up to three days.”
Do you think Mike enjoys his men? Do you think Mike enjoys when they put him in a little trailer and jump around on the roof?
