😜🐅🎨 “Tiger Hunt Study” oil on canvas, 30”x40” (76cm x 102cm). Ok, the story behind this piece. As many may know, this piece is in reference to one of the MOST Badass paintings ever!!!... Peter Paul Rubens “The Tiger Hunt” oil on canvas, 1615-1616, 101”x128” (256cm x 324cm). This piece was created near the beginning of the renaissance and a perfect example of why the renaissance was such a monumental shift in art... instead of a bunch of Jesus paintings, we now have tigers biting guys on horses 😜😜😜 With that said, there are many paintings, this one included, that I always greatly admired for the pure artistic skill, ambition and scale and I wanted to “recreate” purely for my own enjoyment :) I’ll never be able to own the original (currently in Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rennes, Rennes, France) BUT I can have a little slice of it 😜 I still have some more work to put into this piece (glazing and a few other refinements) however I wanted to share it at this point. Once this piece is done it is going into the Personal Private Collection 😜😜😜 All enquires please email ✉️ [email protected] ✉️ www.brentestabrook.com | #brentestabrook #art #jameswrightgallery #oilpainting #tigerhunt #peterpaulrubens (at James Wright Gallery) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGVoEG7FPUY/?igshid=13mtansv6eftq
