What is your favourite part of Toronto zoo or your local zoo? With so many people home watching the Tiger King, I thought it might be a good idea to show what a big cat habitat should look like. This is the Cheetah habitat that we helped create. They have a large chunk of open ground to roam as well as look out points and interactive places to meet the public with safe barriers that help mimic their natural habitat. @thetorontozoo does a fantastic job it making this a priority. World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) is using Tigerkings to advocate for the complete annihilation of all Tiger and Big Cat sanctuaries in the USA.

Tigerkings is a new documentary available on Netflix that features a series of uneducated breeders fighting like children in a popularity contest. It was shut down by a Florida county police department because one of the breeders was involved in the cold case murder of her own husband in the late 1990's. The show apparently brought new evidence against her in the case.

There are 500+ comments on the WWF Instagram post about the show and their opinion on shutting the facilities down. Almost 100% of the comments are also uninformed animal rights advocates agreeing with WWF.

It drives me up a wall that this many people would be so uninformed. I can guarantee by the trailer for the show alone that those people probably aren't specialized trained professionals who should be caring for these animals, but not all sanctuary and Big Cat breeders are bad. Not all people are bad. Yet for some reason that always flies over people's heads.

If all the facilities were shut down those Big Cats they intended to save will most likely be killed. The entire reason the facilities exist in the first place was to combat poaching and ultimately their extinctions.

I'm sure these people also think Zoos, Seaworld, and Wildlife parks are torturous prisons for animals too. News flash, they're not. They usually do more for those animals than any "advocate" could. They help heal broken bones and take care of animals that would, untouched by these people, die.

I feel bad for these animals. I do not feel bad for the idiots.

TL;DR never follow WWF they're uninformed
