Baz

“We’re young, we’re hot, and we’re freeeeeee!” Dev shouts, and then follows his boast up with a raucous wolf howl.

“You’re making a scene!” I hiss at him.

Dev flips me off, before skipping ahead of Niall and I to the baggage carousel. I refuse to look around to see if Dev’s behaviour is drawing attention. Of course it is; he lives to embarrass me.

Niall laughs at my expression and then throws an arm over my shoulders. “C’mon, Baz. The sooner we get out of here, the sooner you can cool your blushes.”

Chapter 4: What Is This?

He’s here again. The magic one.

Sometimes my lovers do try to come back, try to catch my eye again. And sometimes they come back with recriminations. I’ve come up with my casual brush-off technique for precisely those reasons. Not that it deters all of them, but things have definitely gotten better since I started using it.

Before, when I was new to all this, I think I accidentally gave them false hope by being too friendly, after. I didn’t mean to do that; I’ve never wanted to cause pain. But I don’t see myself ever actually having a relationship beyond friendship with a human. I just don’t seem to have it in me to feel that way about them.

Not that I’ve ever felt that way about another Child of Sedna, either. But that’s because I’ve never met any others like me besides my sire. So maybe that’s the reason for my lack of romantic interest, but I’ll have to meet others of my kind to be sure.

I eye the man…Baz, uneasily. It bothers me that I even remember his name.

Here's chapter 2! It's funny, I've posted nothing for a month. Now I've posted three times in two weeks and I've got so many WIPs with chapters ready or nearly ready. I almost feel like apologizing for the flood of content you're about to get. Still, hope you enjoy!

Chapter 2: And So It Begins

Summary:

Snow finds his place with Shepard's dance crew. But then his destiny threatens to take it all away from him.

Shepard

I’m not really thinking about Snow when Agatha, Penny and I roll up to the pier in our camper. Actually, it’s not a camper, per se. It’s a bus I got for five hundred bucks from a gremlin who’d gotten tired of gumming up the moving parts.

I repaired the engine, and Pen and I modified it so that it has sleeping bunks and storage and a small restroom. No electricity. Just a cold water shower and a flush toilet. When we need to cook, we use a small propane grill out on the beach. Agatha strung a chain of battery powered fairy lights around the inside so we can get into bed without tripping over anything.

It’s enough. We don’t spend much time actually in the bus over the summer. Just long enough sleep each night, and to change parking places every morning (to avoid being harassed by the cops for homelessness) (they can’t legally fine us for sleeping in a vehicle, but they can make our lives miserable. It’s better to avoid the situation entirely).

I’m not thinking about Snow because Penny, Agatha and I are deep in a debate about what angle we want to use to gain followers this summer.
