There are few men on this planet who can pull off the utili-kilt with dash and aplomb, technical difficulties notwithstanding 💫✨

Tilted Kilt Girl!
So I went to a tilted kilt tonight and I’m just gonna say all you are wonderful people
What was a warm winter, has turned into a cold damp spring . . . May 5th was cold and soaked. I had a dentist appointment that morning, or so I thought, and was supposed to head up to Pennsylvania for a Saturday morning meeting afterwards. It was a veritable monsoon when I left the house . . . in my truck. I had planned on riding to Springfield then heading up from there, but that wasn’t in the cards . . . Neither was my appointment - apparently they put it in their books for another day . . . So I returned home in the monsoon and got some work done. As the rain let up a bit I checked the radar . . . and saw hope. However, I quickly dismissed it, packed my back and threw it in the truck.
After I said goodbye to my wife, I got in the truck and headed out . . .But the gap I saw on the radar was nagging me. The roads were wet, the clouds dark, but no rain was falling . . . Without consciously thinking about it, I found myself at my storage shed. When I first planned this trip it was a ride . . . Pulling the bike out I set about making it a ride.
Unfortunately, I hadn’t packed or dressed for a ride. I did have my new favorite riding pants on - Duluth Trading Company Fire Hose Work Pants, but I just had a T shirt and my rain coat. Fortunately, my jacket and rain gear are kept at the shed with the bike, but it was chili . . . I found one of Bones’ hoodies in the shed and put that on under my jacket, Put on my rain pants ensured that the rain jacket and gloves were on the bike and I headed out.
I had wanted to take the bike because I knew the roads around where the meeting was were phenomenal - PA 611 running along the Delaware River is a fantastic road. Heading up, I kept my eyes on the sky waiting for my luck to run out and the rain to start. The route was split between nice roads and interstate. I stopped along I 78 when I could smell the rain coming - I knew my luck had run out . . . I put the rain jacket on over my riding jacket, put ion the rain gloves and continued . . . About 15 miles later the rain finally came . . . but it only lasted about 10 miles . . . it was almost stopped when I pulled off for gas and a bite to eat at one of Timmy’s favorite places . . .
On a day forecast to be a washout, I rode of 250 miles and only got a little wet for 10 miles. The next day was forecast to be just scattered showers so . . .
I wish I could be wrong as much as a weatherman and still keep my job . . .
In their defense, perhaps the showers were scattered on Saturday . . . They were scattered wherever I happened to be . . . After the meeting I took a quick 20 mile detour to one of Bones’ favorite places . . . after picking up a small cooler and 20 White Castle sliders, Timmy and I headed out . . . This was May 6 . . . Why was it just 42 degrees out? Why was it raining so much? Many such questions went through my head . . . but the one that never did was . . . Why didn’t I take the truck?
I planned to ride . . . I rode . . .
