Devo nostalgia to the etymology of "prophecy." Looking through my reddit comment history (trying to save what I can, to be honest) and I'm struck by what a thorough snapshot that site is (or was?) of the breadth of human interaction. When did I first hear Devo? What does "prophecy" really mean? So many kinds of deep thoughts, deep memories, deep readings. So much thinking about time and history, poetry and prediction. Words on a page that never existed. Black dots on a field of white, replicated on glowing screens as long as the signal survives. (Or survived.)
