the clarity of the sky on moonlit winter nights has always reminded me of mirrors
my eyelids are heavy, but my mind is not ready to go.
it's terribly late and yet, sleep has no appeal.
my pillow is cool, and my bedsheets are soft
but my psyche is itchy and swollen and hot.
this cannot be the last day i see today's date,
not another day wasted, spent on headaches and daydreams.
i am exhausted at myself, with tossing hours into landfills,
but i am too sick and too drained to put them elsewhere.
-- just now, june '24
hear me out; clocks.
instead of showing 10:15, they should show 11: -45
i can explain further, but i don’t think i should have to.
