Given the amount of time Peter spent lurking around Derek's loft, it was a wonder he had a home of his own, but there he was a usual, lounging on the couch for once rather than the stairs, thumbing idly through a book.

At the sound of the door rattling open, he only gave half a glance in its direction, only mildly surprised at the fact that it wasn't his nephew arriving home.

"If you're looking for Derek, he's not here," he informed the teen, seemingly disinterested. "I'd offer to take a message, but I'm not really the secretary type." Despite the quip, Peter was studying Liam out of the corner of his eye, his focus less on the book than it appeared.
