hmmhmhm let me try to explain this it’s like... queer ppl basically have to stay quiet about their orientations all year round, and having a day of silence where straight people refuse to speak to try and “experience” that erasure honestly rubs me the wrong way like.
Actual ppl who are forced to be silent abt their orientations exist... like it’s fine if queer ppl enjoy taking part in a day like this, but it pisses me off because a lot of straight people do it without actually understanding or caring about what it’s like, just so they can seem like they’re progressive? when in reality they’re just going to keep ignoring the voices of sexual/gender/romantic minorities
idk just the entire thing makes me feel skeevy about that
