Doing some last minute additions to my cosplay for Sydney Supanova tomorrow. I just caught this cool effect with the spray paint before it's too late. Hope the tumblr compression does not ruin it.

Today in things I've made:

Timelord collar dimensions

Myself, @seacloudsky and another friend were trying to construct those fancy things timelords wear, but were hampered by a lack of properly dimensioned patterns.

I ended up spending ~30 minutes analyzing an online image, and then from that we produced the pattern we eventually used.

All measurements in cm, zoom in for best results:

The curve you must get right:

The neck width, shoulder height , top section height, and U-shape section can all be varied a little to suit the person.

You could also extend the shoulder section, (the 14.5 cm bit), but what we did here sits nicely.

The front segments, which are drawn up by tracing over the back:

I'm posting here, and in a few other locations to hopefully make it easier for others to do.

Based on this tutorial, which I recommend anyone attempting this to watch.

Disclaimer, we ended up having strength issues constructing it, and re-did it with wire and foam. But the pattern itself gets the shape fine.
