Appearance:
Gale is notably more human appearing than his boss and co-workers, which is a bit of an oddity, considering the crowd generally drawn to Silas. He has darkly tanned skin that has several scars and is covered with dark blue and purple freckles, and his eyes are light orange. His hands are webbed, and he does have small claws as well.
His left arm is amputated, and the stub is quite scarred over.
His tail is large and wide with a somewhat small tailfin, which does make him a bit slower than some others. His scales are dark blue, pink, and orange, and his fins are orange in colour. His tail has many stripes and spots that match that of an emperor angelfish, like this:
His hair is long, going past his shoulders, and mostly dark blue with pink, orange, purple, and red streaking through it. It looks exactly like this:
Personality:
Gale can be serious, but not like Silas is. He's a much more humorous fella often in the form of sadcasm and is quite smug and flirty too. He's got the chilled but still serious uncle vibe to him at times. He's easily excitable and tells stories about his treasure hunts often but is also extremely stubborn. He's kind in his own odd way and fiercely loyal to those he's close to and especially Silas, who he respects greatly.
Some Fun Facts/Extra Info:
•Gale is twisted from Gill from Finding Nemo
•He was separated from his parents when he was younger and ended up trapped on land and sold at an auction. He eventually escaped but never saw his parents or the rest of his family again
•When he was first captured, his left arm was horribly mangled in the process and had to be amputated
•He's claustrophobic
•Gale has a little club for other merfolk that experienced being captured by humans (He may have called it the "Tank Gang"...)
•While Gale is much more humanlike than the others, he was met with a lot of ableism and mistreatment when trying to find other jobs before he met Silas
•He can wield a spear incredibly well
•He wishes he had magic cause it seems badass (and could have saved him as a kid huh who said that)
•Gale likes Finn a lot and even helped Silas with teaching him to hunt
•He's friends with Timo (and uh thinks he's pretty cute but let's ignore that for now haha)

A/N: I hope you guys like the new skrunkly! I've been planning on expanding Silas and Finn's odd little found family for a while now! Starting with this fella right here
I am still trying to figure it out, but one concept I have in mind is Timo really struggling and he's kinda desperate for work at this point (a lot of people are too afraid of Silas/the rumours circulating around him to even considering working for him) so despite being like 16 or 17 he was like "Pls let me work for you"
Silas has like a built-in bar vibe detector as well and Timo gives off 0 lmao
There's another reason but that'll lead to Lamentations spoilers...
Omg Timo is a good boy 🥺🥺🥺
will literally explode when Lamentations 4 comes out 😫🫶
I need to rant about Timo actually I haven't given him the attention he deserves.
Now Timo isn't one of my "main" characters, but I'd say he's pretty important cause he was one of the first people Silas hired, he was present during Morrigan's death, and he was the only person Silas trusted to be around and even look after Finn when he was baby.
The thing about Timo that he absolutely despises empty promises and people who frequently make them. The reason for that is largely due to his childhood, which was mostly spent in an orphanage.
Timo was left on the streets at a very young age. He can't remember how he got there, but a lot of his early memories were just wandering around Atlantica and being stared at and whispered about ("Oh, that poor thing"), and digging through garbage for food.
This is where his hatred of being "all talk" began. He's been told or overheard so many things that are never acted upon, especially "I'm sure someone will help him," and then they swim away or "Don't worry I'll be right back," and he never sees them again.
Eventually, he ended up in an orphanage he was mostly ignored and passed by cause, well... he's a tiny cuttlefish with sharp teeth and tentacles in his mouth. Most who had the money and privilege to adopt passed him over. He was constantly told, "Don't worry, you'll be adopted soon," which are just more empty promises.
He eventually just kinda realised those promises are made to keep him quiet, to make him shut up and to make him stop looking so sad. They were promises made to make the other person feel better, not him. He just doesn't believe people who promise or insist on things anymore.
When he got over he realised that if he wasn't adopted before he was 18 he'd be kicked out and wind up back on the streets all over again (and he would not be given the kindness people give sad children).
He spent a lot of his early teens looking for jobs and was met for more empty words and promises like "We'll get back you."
One day, he saw Silas' ad in the newspaper (thanks Morrigan for insisting), and while he didn't have hunting experience, he was pretty desperate and decided to give it a shot.
And like... he freaking adored Silas. Was he scared at first? Absolutely, Silas is terrifying. But Silas is a guy who doesn't talk much and chooses every word carefully, and his words are filled with intention.
Silas never makes an empty promise. He gets shit done. If he says he's going to do something, he'll do it. He told Timo he would teach him how to hunt... and then he actually did???? He didn't tell Timo, "Not now." "It turns out I can't." "I hired someone else," He just said. "Let's get started." That means so much to Timo.
It was just amazing and incredible. This guy was listening to Timo and adapting to his needs to teach him better and giving him (a bit odd sometimes) advice and making sure he had essential life skills like- kinda like a dad. He treated Timo like a person and not a sad sight to pity or a cute little thing to gawk at.
And when he wearily corrected Silas on his pronouns and gender Silas was like "? Okay, anyways" and he actually listened and just wtjsgkgsjzvnzvn. Mister Silas is the best dad- *ahem* boss ever. ...And Mister Morrigan's there too ig (/j he likes Morrigan as well)
What lie do they most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt them?
for nkulu and blaze 🤔
AND
Why do they get up in the morning?
for my GOAT TIMOOOOOOO
What lie do they most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt them?
For Nkulu: "She's lying, I didn't say anything like that!"
As you all know, Nkulu was a bully to his little sister, Fundiswa, and he'd mock and harass her endlessly. Of course, when she went to tell their parents, he'd act like she was making it up to get him in trouble. He wasn't always successful, but the times he was still haunt him. He didn't feel bad then, but now all he can think about is his sister crying and looking at him with so much hate as she's punished for something she didn't do. He regrets it so deeply.
For Blaze: "I didn't do anything wrong!"
Although older Finn had learned not to respond to Blaze (the bite incident aside), little Finn, who was new to all this and had pretty poor emotional regulation? He'd be brought to tears by Blaze's words. Unlike Nkulu, Blaze wasn't trying to hide what he did/said. He simply insisted he was telling the honest truth. He didn't do anything wrong. It was Finn who was reacting badly.
Of course, we know this is a lie, and he does, too. Does he feel haunted? Not as much as he should. But when he thinks about "the incident" and how he used similar lies to get off scott free despite leaving Finn with permanent scars... he does feel very guilty.
Why do they get up in the morning?
Well, now, Timo can't be caught slacking, can he? He's gotta be up bright and early to help Silas, to look after Finn, to spend time with both of them and also help with Silas' business! So much to do, so little time. Timo wants to do what he can to support his family and make them feel loved. He doesn't ever want them to feel alone and unwanted. No matter what, he'd do his best for them (and also for his trinket collection XD)
Morrigan is- or well, was- a teacher at Atlantica's School for Young Mages, a place specifically focused on teaching and nurturing children who show promise in magic. He's in his early 50s (technically, he would be in his late 60s...) and an alumni of NRC well-known for his intelligence impressive magical prowess. He was very popular and well-liked in Atlantica despite past *ahem* incidents... until he married Silas, that is.
Some Basic Info:

☆Birthday: 12 October
☆Height/length: 158cm
☆Dominant hand: Right

☆Likes: Spending time with Silas, learning new things, food, teaching, his students, being the best
☆Dislikes: Losing, being ignored, his parents, strict rules
☆Favourite food: Tuna seaweed wraps
☆Least favourite food: Mussels
Personality:
Morrigan is a fella with a short temper (that he has worked on a lot, thank you) and fiery spirit. He's very charming and polite most of the time, of course, though that quickly falls away when he gets pissed off and becomes passive-aggressive and snarky. He's come very far since his youth, where he'd explode into anger and violence very easily.
He's immensely passionate about what and who he loves and always speaks his mind. He's incredibly intelligent and adept at magic with a love for puzzle solving and learning new things.Morrigan is also someone who is very playful and smug and likes to mess around with people for laughs.
He's a jokester (he was meant to be a dad all along, it seems) and a prankster at heart even if he has toned it down. He's resistant to strict rules and gets irritated easily when his actions are restricted and when he's told what to do.
Morrigan is very competitive and has an almost obsessive desire to win at everything and prove himself as the best. He has internalised the idea that what he can do and how well he can do it (ESPECIALLY magic) is tied to his worth since he was a child. He's been trying not to think like that so much... Silas kicking his ass both in fights and in hunting competitions seems to be helping that along.
Appearance:
Morrigan has long, curly dark green hair streaked with grey and white, lighter green skin, and dark green scales and fins. He has lots of freckles, some wrinkles, and a hooked nose. His eyes are aquamarine, and he has razor-sharp teeth that don't entirely fit in his mouth and razor-sharp claws. His tail and fins look just like those of a cookie cutter shark.
Morrigan has a number of scars on his neck, tail, and sides. There aren't many, and most are in the form of clawmarks and bite marks most of them came from Silas 💀
Morrigan also has a band of black scales around his neck, and from just below that all the way to his navel are photophores that glow in the dark, which helps him camouflage and can even make him look like a school of fish from below.
Morrigan doesn't wear clothes, of course, but he does wear Silas' courting gift to him, a necklace of teeth and bones with a volute shell, almost always.
Important Things to Know:
☆Morrigan's magic is incredibly powerful, and he's been regarded as a "magical prodigy" for as long as he can remember
☆It was because of his experiences being a "gifted" prodigy child that he had taken the job he had. He wanted to at least do what he could to help and support those far too young kids burdened with so many expectations just like he was
☆Morrigan attended NRC and was in Savanaclaw
☆Morrigan was almost expelled from NRC but his sheer magical ability and remarkable grades (save a... certain time in his school career) that saved his hide
☆Morrigan is dead. Very dead. He was murdered and has been dead for 17 years
☆Morrigan has an incredible singing voice and is very musically talented
☆Morrigan is very talented in general. He is regarded as a "jack of all trades" who can master many skills quickly
☆Morrigan is very much neaurodivergent, idk what it is yet, though
Family:
Morrigan has a husband, Silas Clearcove, and they both unofficially adopted Timo Byun, a young teen who works for Silas. They're not related by blood, but Ezra and Alastair are like family to Morrigan and he even made them the godfathers of his children
Morrigan has a mother and father and several siblings, and he has a very negative relationship with all of them. He does, however, adore his nieces and nephews and does his best to be the fun uncle for them (especially since their parents are so horribly boring)
Morrigan also has six children on the way! He and Silas haven't named them yet but Morrigan is so excited to meet them all and lavish them with so much love :)
Backstory:
Okie this is gonna be a long one
Morrigan was born into a very wealthy family as the oldest of eight children. From a young age, he showed signs of magic, and very soon after that became clear that it was much more powerful than that of his siblings and the schoolmates who had magic as well.
His parents jumped on the opportunity that having a powerful, successful mage in the family would provide them. It would boost their status in the eyes of the public and especially the other families in the upper class, as the Clearcoves are "othered" by the rest for being more "monstrous" merfolk.
It was made clear to Morrigan that he was a special and gifted child, a prodigy who would surely make his family proud. He was given a similar treatment to Riddle. His schedule was very strict, and most if not all of his actions were controlled by his parents, and most of his time was spent in magical training.
The pressure to be the best and to not be a disappointment was overwhelming, and the constant control of almost everything he did simply made it worse.
Morrigan developed a short temper and quick emotional reactions to almost everything. Criticism, even constructive criticism, was perceived as an insult to his intelligence and skill (mainly because of his parents) and made him angry, and to let that anger out, he would get into violent fights and break as many rules as possible.
This behaviour continued into NRC and only became so much worse when Morrigan realised that he no longer had his parents breathing down his neck and controlling him. In a desperate attempt to gain any scrap of a feeling of control and freedom he could before it was inevitably ripped away once he left NRC, he went off the rails.
He got into many violent fights with his dorm mates and even other students, frequently pestered and bullied other students, ignored curfew, attended many wild parties, and by the time of his third year certain actions were bordering on illegal and also resulted in his fake ID being on the wall of shame in the town's local bar. He nearly got into trying certain *other* unsavoury substances, too (you can guess what they were)
His actions had essentially gone from really bad to self-destructive and his close friends Ezra and Alastair, who he'd dragged into many of his shenangians as they had similar issues to him, held a sort of intervention. It cause the friendship to break apart temporarily since Morrigan just got mad at them and wouldn't listen (he didn't hurt them, though, dw) and told them to fuck off.
They did, and it was the mix of missing them, the loneliness he felt from their absence, and fucking up real bad somewhere else that had him come around.
Morrigan eventually decided that yeah, he was going to do what he wanted with his own life when he graduated, no matter how furious it made his parents. He wasn't perfect... but he started getting noticeably better during the remainder of his time at NRC.
The rest is much simpler. He graduated, became a teacher, met Silas, became friends with him, and eventually fell in love with him, they both moved to Atlantica together, got "married", had children, and... well. He was murdered. :(
Some Fun Facts/Extra Info:
☆Morrigan, Ezra, and Alastair took part of the VDC and won
☆Morrigan was an incredibly skilled magishift player and led Savanaclaw to many victories (his portrait can be found in Savanaclaw dorm :P)
☆Morrigan is an adrenaline junkie
☆Morrigan researches magic as a side hobby. His knowledge and understanding of magic is incredibly intricate and it's part of why he's so powerful
☆Although marrying Silas led to him being either pitied or ostracised, Morrigan didn't care and was just happy Silas loved him just as much as he loved Silas
☆Morrigan recorded himself singing and talking for Silas to play for Finn and co before they were born so they would become familiar with his voice even when he was busy with work
☆Silas taught Morrigan to hunt and hunting together and fighting each other became a pastime and a way of showing their love in their own weird way
