For once in his life, Valter was the bashful one, hiding his face into his twin’s shoulder slightly as he peeked out to see the young princess. Walter giggled a bit, finding the reversal of their roles a bit silly and charming. 

“Sh-she’s pretty, isn’t -- isn’t she?” he teased, grinning at him.

“Um...” Valter looked down a bit, cheeks flushing. “... Yeah.”

“Why don’t -- why d... don’t you go t-talk to her?” 

“Um...” Valter shook his head. “No thanks...” he sighed pensively. 

Walter rolled his eyes, stepped behind his brother and gave a little push in her direction, much to the boy’s surprise.

Two for the price of one

@soaringskyward continued from here Todd's heart stops. Or at least it feels that way. He watches as the car swerves. Then swerves again. Finally it comes to a stop. But not by brakes. It hit something! Worst, Todd made it hit something! He made something bad happen! Fearfully he watches the car door open and sees someone scramble to get out. Are they hurt? Did he make them get hurt? He couldn't tell. But then the person starts to yell. That makes the boy realize he is still on the road. He had scraped up his hands and knees. Then he realizes he had dropped his mama's money. The boy gasps and quickly moves to pick it up, forgetting about the man for a moment. If he loses this, he and his brother will be in worst trouble! By then a few neighbors have come out of their home to investigate the scene. They look at the crashed car. Someone notices the small boy.  "Hey! Get out of the road kid! Go home!" Todd looks up. Before he could think of his actions, he quickly turned around and starts to run back the way he came, back home.

“So what d’ya think, huh, Walter?” Valter asked earnestly, grinning at his older twin. “They seem nice, right?”

Walter nodded a bit, smiling as he held on tight to his brother’s hand. 

“So you want to say hello, right?”

Walter paused a moment, then shook his head, frowning.

“Whaaa? Why not? You just said--”

Walter shook his head emphatically, tearing up. 

“Alright, alright, don’t cry...” Valter sighed, trying to calm the sensitive boy. “I’ll go say hi first, and then you can come over whenever you feel like it, okay?”

Walter smiled again, and nodded, much to his brother’s relief. “Th-th-th-thank y-you...”

“Heehee... It’s okay. I told ya I’d always be around to help you, didn’t I?” Valter giggled, giving him a tender hug. 

Leaving Walter to cower next to his parents’ legs, the bolder twin went forward to greet the strange bird-person-thing they were visiting for some reason. “Heya!” he called, giving a friendly wave. “I’m Valter! What’s your name?” he asked, grinning. “I love making new friends!”

The whistle had caught Titania’s attention first, turning her head to meet the noise. Vanessa followed, squinting to get a better sight of the approaching figures. Her vision was fine, it had to be good to be a sky knight, but it was a hot day and the heated air was obscuring her view should she look too far.

The pegasus’ wings perked up, almost as if they were bristling, matching the discomfort of her rider. Regardless, Vanessa fights mildly with the mount to move closer, a biting tone ready on her lips.

“Excuse me, who are you to talk to a soldier of Frelia like this?”

It was clear she was young, but she spoke with trained maturity. She wasn’t a knight, not yet, not even a soldier. They didn’t have to know that.

“I’m Valter, House of Weiss,” the boy purred, running his fingers through his shoulder-length hair. “Trust me -- I’m kinda a big deal. I can talk to just about anyone how I want to, ‘cept for maybe the emperor himself.”

He smiled nervously at her mount, starting to feel a little bit nervous despite himself. At least he was better than Walter, who refused to get more than 40 paces close to the beast at any time. “A.... And who’s this? He’s quite beautiful... Did I happen to mention that I LOVE horses?” he lied.
