there are too many oikawa parallels between miyuki and oikawa and as someone who loves both very very dearly, i felt personally attacked a /lot/ while i was watching daiya. have fun B :')
The more I watch it and the more I think Oikawa’s character was shaped around Miyuki’s character. Is not impossible to think that Furudate-sensei was inspired by such a huge sports manga like Daiya, in the same way they were influenced by Kuroko no Basket.
If you look at it, Miyuki and Oikawa are just way too similar:
they both played the sport since they were young
they both chose a position and stuck to it even though they would have been very good in others as well (it was said Miyuki would have been a great pitcher and Oikawa’s spikes are still legendary)
they both always practised hard
they both are the strategic brain of the team
they both ended up being the captain of the team
they both know how to bring out the 100% of their pitchers/spikers
they both “chose the wrong path” (the only difference is that Oikawa stayed with his friends, while Miyuki decided to go alone against them)
they both have the word genius connected with them
they both always seem miles ahead of other people and other players
they’re both the most supportive with their teammates
they’re both smart, sassy and petty
they’re both the absolute best at what they do
they’re both the prettiest character of the story
they both made me suffer a lot
they’re both my favourite character
