Intro
Hey all!
The name’s Matt. Growing up, I always felt uncomfortable in my body. When I was little, I wasn’t into wearing dresses or playing with dolls (things society says a stereotypical girl should like). I was either outside playing in the dirt with the boys or inside playing Pokémon.
I never told anyone that I felt uncomfortable in my body and that I had always wished I was born male. That is until a few months ago. Until I got to college, I never knew that there were other people who have had similar experiences and emotions as me growing up. When I first learned the term “transgender”, I knew it fit the way I was feeling, but it didn’t take until a few years later for me to actually accept that I was transgender.
I came out to my best friend initially and then to my parents. At this point, my close friends from school have started calling me Matt and are using he/him pronouns. They have all been super supportive, which is why my friends are actually the best people ever.
I’m currently back living in rural PA, where the only people who know that I’m trans are my parents and my gender therapist. Hopefully I will be able to start T soon and will be able to get on with the life I was meant to live.
