Hunting. That was something Yoseob had always wanted to properly learn, but never really had the chance to. Sure he had gone a few times to hunt when he had been with his old group, but perhaps it was needless to say that it never went too well. The main hunters in his group eventually started sneaking away to hunt, so that he wouldn't notice and wouldn't be able to tag along. Understandable, considering that Yoseob wasn't the most quiet person on earth. Quite far from it actually. That's why he had never quite learned all the tricks, but he badly wanted to. It was an essential part of surviving after all. To hunt.
Thus he ended up coming with a great idea how to learn; follow a hunter. In this case the victim ended up being Jonghyun.
Yoseob had already sneaked outside the walls in order to wait for Jonghyun to appear from somewhere. He was hiding behind a bush from where he could see the gate, but also at least the right side of the wall. He couldn’t be sure whether Jonghyun would use the gates or sneak out through some secret passageway after all, so he had to make sure that he would eat least see a peek of him somewhere. Well, it was still very much possible that he would miss him and he would go some other way. Yoseob couldn’t possible know even half of the secret ways to get out of that place. He actually knew just a few himself although he had been there for a couple of years now.
It wasn’t a short wait though. He had complete guessed the time wrong when Jonghyun would go hunting. Or what if he had already gone, but some other way around? Shit. He still decided to wait for at least an hour. No way would he give up on it now. Well, not unless there would be more than one infected one approaching him. Well, unless a bloater came around. Then he would run for sure.
Soon enough he heard something… or did he? He wasn’t quite sure. Maybe he was imagining things. Oh, no! He wasn’t. He could see someone moving, but extremely quietly. Definitely not a zombie then. Pretty fast he recognized it to be the exact person he had been waiting which why he grinned and decided that he would wait a bit, so that the other male would get a bit further away, but so that he could still see him. Hopefully he wouldn’t accidentally step on any of his traps… Or did Jonghyun use traps? He would learn soon enough. For a bit he did manage to quietly follow the other one, but it didn’t take long for him to loose his concentration and he ended up stepping on a fallen branch that had been covered by some dry leaves, so it made somewhat a big noise.
He froze still and closed his eyes tightly, cursing at himself in his mind; well, this was it then. This was one of the many reasons he would never be a too superb hunter. “It’s me… not an infected one or anything, don’t shoot!” He raised his hands up to show that he surrendered and didn’t want a bullet to pierce his heart. Or head actually, because that’s where you would rather want to aim the zombies after all.
