No matter where they lived or what was happening Magnus and (Y/N) saw each other at least once a month. (Y/N) unlike Magnus chose to travel the world and never stay somewhere for long. Even still in the last century of their life (Y/N) visited Magnus weekly. To gossip, to catch up, to let their hair down.
Then one Saturday (Y/N) didn’t show up. Magnus didn’t worry straight away but when he never even had a call for 2 weeks he picked up the phone. (Y/N) apologized and said they’d go caught up with some guy.
Magnus was excited for his friend since he couldn’t remember the last time they’d had a boyfriend. But when Magnus barely heard from (Y/N) for 6 months he was concerned. He didn’t have time to be overly concerned because of Valentine and now Sebastian.
Alec had asked Magnus to check out some photos of Sebastian to see if he knew any of the people in it. As soon as the picture loaded his mouth went dry. “(Y/N)?” He zoomed in the photo and saw it was his friend.
It wasn’t just that photo. (Y/N) appeared in tons of photos with Sebastian in different cities. It wasn’t a coincidence.
Magnus did his best to contact (Y/N) but nearly none of the calls went through and the ones that did didn’t last long. It took him weeks but he finally broke through and convinced (Y/N) to meet him.
He didn’t jump straight into it when (Y/N) walked in his apartment. Magnus was just happy to see them again. “I should probably be going,” (Y/N) stood from the couch.
“You can't,” Magnus shot up from his chair. (Y/N) stopped, looking at him expectantly, “I know about Sebastian.”
Their eyes went wide, “I've got to go,” They rushed to the door but Magnus threw magic at the door to lock it. He’d always been the better warlock. “Magnus,” (Y/N) warned.
“I can't let you go,” he said walking up to (Y/N). “These men are using you,”
“You don’t know anything,” (Y/N) spat.
“I'm trying to help you!”
“And I don’t believe you!” (Y/N) had never yelled at Magnus. “And I've learned a lot since last time,” (Y/N) used their magic to unlock the door and leave.
Every time Magnus called no one answered. It had been two weeks and Sebastian was doing more and more attacks. Magnus threw himself into work to try to forget.
“Magnus theirs someone to see you,” Alec told him as he sat at his makeshift desk at the institute. Who would come here to find him?
“(Y/N),” Magnus rushed over to them and they ran into his arms. “What's wrong?”
“You were right,” (Y/N) sobbed, “he’s coming here. We’ve got to go,”
