Flirting: murderer edition
Eyyy, we’re doin another actually good book this time!
For those of you who are unaware of this title, The Monster of Elendhaven is a fantasy-romance-horror novella, which you can find on Kindle. and I cannot stress enough that this book is A.) One of the best written best written horror books of all time, B.) gay as shit, and C.) HORRENDOUSLY DARK. Like, whatever you imagine when I say fantasy-romance-horror, this is not that. this is an extremely dark, extremely graphic story.
If you are triggered by-
Graphic depictions of murder
Graphic gore, both violent and medical
Abusive relationships
Graphic depictions of sexual assault/rape
Graphic depiction of physical illness
Discussions of plague, a pandemic, and quarantine
Depictions of child abuse
Themes of social oppression
…or any combination thereof, I would highly, highly, highly recommend that you block my live read tag. This is probably the most graphic and upsetting book I’ve ever live read here, but if you’re willing to stick around I promise it’s worth it. This is probably my favorite queer horror novel of all time, which is saying quite a bit since I wrote my dissertation on queer horror.
I’m gonna be tagging all posts and reblogs of this as ‘tmoe live read’, and you can read it chronologically, sans reblogs, in my ‘live read tag’ . Again, I would highly recommend you block these tags if you are triggered by any of this content.

Guys the Florian flashbacks are so good
I’m not gonna show a lot cause there’s just… only so much I can add, but trust me, it’s the perfect level of macabre and grotesque
It would be genuinely very sweet, if they weren’t both horrible, horrible people
Florian:
God he’s so fucking casually scary, love it
Same energy
We love us some creepy, environmental storytelling
