"Do.. do you mind?"
"Not at all, Ms. Potts."
But she did mind, slightly..
She sighed, resting her head in her palm as she stared at Dummy twirl in a circle, and she wondered why the hell Tony kept the damn robot, but then realized that he had a mind of it's own. Just like JARVIS did. Speak of the devil..
"Can I get you anything, Ms. Heican?"
She turned, her ocean blues settling on the blonde who stood in the doorway. His blonde locks framed his face nicely, settling around his earlobes, his fluorescent blue's shined. His hand was resting on the door frame, while the other held a what seemed to be a notepad, but more futuristic.
Des shook her head.
"No thanks, JARVIS." she said, ".. thanks though."
"Jealous?"
She flinched.
"Pardon?"
"Are you jealous?" he repeated, his accent spilling over his words. The sound of moving mechanical parts filled her ears as he shifted his weight from one leg to the other. Despite being a "robot", he was quite human in some cases. He had emotions, he could joke around. If you touched him, he was warm and his hair felt real. Tony was proud of him.
She only shook her head.
"I've been selfish lately, JARVIS." she explained, "I've been hogging him and keeping him away from his daily activities."
"But you've been keeping him safe, Ms. Heican. Which I believe has not been selfish in the slightest. You're doing your job." he laughed slightly, which consisted of a slight metallic sound but handsome all the same. ".. better than I could ever do."
She smiled at that and looked back down. A box sat in front of her, her fingers touching the glass casing slightly. Inside rested the old reactor, and surrounding it, the words Proof Tony Stark Has A Heart.
Des let out a breath, still feeling the presence of the robot. She looked over at him, noting that was busy working away at his notepad.
"I best be getting back to work then, Ms. Heican." he said, looking back up. "Are you sure you don't need anything?"
She shook her head.
"No. Thank you, JARVIS." she said, "I appreciate it."
"He needs you, you know. Don't doubt yourself, Ms. Heican. Ever. You believe in him. More and more each day. And I know that is more than he could ever ask for.." he cleared his throat and turned. "Sometimes.. I think that you need someone to believe in you too."
She did.
