oh dang, thanks for thinking of me for this, dude!  i love whenever i get to geek out over writing!  (is there anything more fun than talking about writing, honestly???)

total ao3 word count → 1,220,433 words.  not too damn shabs.

how often do you write? → hrm.  i would say roughly every day, ish?  i write because the stories i want to read don’t exist yet.  i get stuck in a world, a dynamic, a scenario and that’s all i want to read about, so i’m generally opening something i’ve written on the daily just to re-read it, settle in and spend some time there, and that nearly always leads to new words on that same project.   they don’t necessarily have staying power but i’m playing with the idea and adding and subtracting constantly.  i have three sterek fics i’m tinkering around on (one that is basically unwritable, haha) and one draco/ron story that i am in nearly every day.

do you have a routine for writing? → other than writing at night, with music and a coffee next to me, not even slightly.  which is probably why i don’t seem to finish anything these days.  i had the idea to write 500 words per day early this year, less than an hour of my time nightly, but i’m not much of an enforcer and every part of me knows it.  ‘we have to write 500 words!  let’s do it!’  *waking up from a seven-hour “nap” that’s utterly fucked my sleep schedule* ‘what?’  i probably need to find someone who actually intimidates me to make rules for me because i am a total pushover and i know it.

what’s your favorite kinks/tropes/pairing? → i’m pretty sure that at this point everybody knows my knees go wobbly for tattoos, smoking, and all things punk.  badassery also does it for me, whether that’s just someone picking up a bat, going full on assassin, or magic-ing it up, i’m game.  also, gimme that sweet, sweet winter-wear (beanies!  wool coats!  gloves!).  really my “kinks” are pretty tame, i mean, an in-depth description of the flex of a forearm, the low hang of jeans on the jut of a hip, the vulnerability of bare feet, or the way a guy’s thighs cord and spread does it for me on every level.  what can i say?  i’m easy as hell.   more largely, trope-wise, it would probably be a million percent easier to just name things i hate but, uh, i’ve got super soft spots for demons, amnesia, enemies to friends to lovers, found family, and pining.  i’m a sucker for sterek and they’ll always beat out everybody else for me, but all stiles x boy pairings are acceptable stiles x boy pairings (same deal with draco x boy).

what’s your favorite fic of yours? → i’m going to say that’s a toss-up between our puddle is deceptively deep and apathy, apathy, you’ll be the death of me.  they’re not my favorite scenarios i’ve ever written (that honor goes to either there’s monsters at home or sevens and eights) but they are the most satisfying to me, writing-wise.  stylistically, i could not love them any more than i already do.  there’s a flow and an ease and a comfort to them that i cannot recreate at will at all.  those two are the only times in my life where just what i had in my head came out on the page (or even better than what i had it in my head).  they were both written in less than forty-eight hours and were so perfectly, exactly what i wanted that there’s an inherent fondness in my heart whenever i think of them because, god, are they ever the epitome of a perfect writing experience: easy, quick, and just what you wanted.

anything you don’t like about your writing → i mean, it gets the job done?  i know i abuse modifiers like a genuine article monster: ‘really,’ ‘very’ and ‘just’ are among my worst offenses but it doesn’t necessarily bother me?  i tend not to see it so it’s hard to be bothered by something that you completely overlook, y’know?  i definitely wish i understood one of the five billion times commas and affect vs effect have been explained to me, but i hardcore do not.  there’s a lot i dislike about the process - for instance, i wish action sequences and description weren’t so hard for me - but the finished product is... well, it wouldn’t get posted it i didn’t like it.  [shrugs]

now something you do like → this is as hard to answer as the one above.  i mean, it gets the job done?  i don’t really feel there’s anything i’m doing on the base level of writing that is ground-breaking or even unique to me.  occasionally i’ll hit on a style that’s really neat but what i like about it is that i have skill enough (clarity, follow-through, cohesiveness, etc.) to tell the story i want to tell.  oh!  i really like when a joke i wrote lands?  when things that are meant to be funny come across as funny.  it’s hard to write a joke, to not be able to inflect it verbally or gesture along with it, so it’s neat when someone says ‘x line made me laugh so hard.’  especially since i find it so funny because i can hear it, just how it’s supposed to sound, so it’s cool to know what ends up working and what doesn’t for the people reading.
