i do want to point out the fact that wagyu is shown eating before finally wanting for something other than what he was told to want for, presumably, the first time in his life. my tiny note for this update

I'll potentially write something more comprehensive about this later but now that more information about the Sea of Lights is available I do think that it's interesting to look at from the perspective of Minty. Him and Brandy (and potentially Maple Syrup) have gone at least once, and due to Minty being a carnivore, he would be the one feeding Brandy and Maple. There's a wider cultural meaning to this but for them it's especially potent as Minty is deliberately put in the position of serving Brandy and Maple, underneath them. We can get an idea that Minty always saw himself as an outsider to them but moments like this can solidify the idea that Brandy and Maple probably didn't see him as on equal footing with them for a long, long time, despite how much of himself he gave to them.

unfortunately for taste of blood my opinion on how i interpret gums scarring has changed and this is mostly my fault for falling for the 'gums targets are all people she had some level of romantic relationship with' idea
