I learned that Jupiter & Saturn protect Earth from Asteroids and Meteors.

According to a study, the presence of these two planets dramatically reduces the number of asteroids that can reach Earth, thanks to their gravitational fields. The trajectory of the most dangerous celestial bodies is indeed deflected out into space.

It was hypothesized that this shield was due only to Jupiter, but Saturn also plays a key role in our safety. If this is confirmed, it would be a significant piece in understanding the development of life on Earth.

TIL In 2022, 68 year-old Maya Murmu was collecting water in India when an elephant stamped on her. She was rushed to the hospital, but died from her injuries. When family members gathered for her funeral, a herd of elephants appeared, and one of them lifted Murmu’s body and threw it in the air. (x)
