Snow: A Chaos Walking fic for paperclipring

Snow, cold, Viola, words, snow, Lee, Viola, Viola, snow, Viola

Todd:

It’s snowing again but I ain’t thinking about last time it snowed. I ain’t thinking about all the blood and the mayor and the pain. I ain’t (I swear I ain’t). Instead I’m thinking about how cute Viola looks cuz the cold’s made her cheeks go all pink like she’s blushing only she ain’t and about how the snow’s kinda sticking to her hair but cuz it’s dark it looks a bit like she has stars in her hair (shut up) and how it’s grown cuz she ain’t had it cut in a little while and it’s gone past her neck and how she’s just got this one strand falling over her eyes. We’re out the front of the house with Lee an’ they’re helping me with my reading an’ writing by putting words in the snow with a stick an’ every time Viola says something or laughs she sends up these little puffs of breath into the sky. I ain’t thinking about the bad times but I ain’t thinking about them words she’s writing in the snow, I’m just thinking about her an’ how much I love her. I reach over and I brush the bit of hair behind her ear and she gives me this smile that just kinda makes me feel all funny inside (shut up) and my noise is all over the place cuz I just love her so much.

Viola:

It’s snowing again but I’m not thinking about last time it snowed. I’m not thinking about the death and destruction or about how close I came to losing him (I almost lost him) or about how my parents will never see real snow. Instead I’m thinking about how beautiful New World looks in the snow. The two moons have never seemed so big and there are so many stars! But with the snow falling like it is it kinda looks like the stars are falling. I can see Haven in the distance, big and bright and safe. The snow makes everything look so much cleaner and pure. I hear Todd’s noise saying my name so I look at him. He’s looking at me in that way that he does sometimes; like he can’t quite believe I’m here. The snow’s settling in his hair, flecking it with while like some kind of birds and he’s flushed red beneath his freckles. He gives me that crooked smile that makes it feel like I have butterflies in my tummy and pushes some hair behind my ear and for a moment I forget about writing and I lean in and kiss him and it feels like home.

Viola, kissing, snow, Viola, pretty, snow, Viola

Lee:

It’s snowing again but I’m not thinking about last time it snowed. I’m not thinking about the death or how sad Viola was or that Siobhan will never see snow again, or about when me and Wilf went out into the snow together and found those Spackle. Instead I’m thinking about how lucky I am to have such good friends. I’m seeing through Todd’s Noise, occasionally helping him with his reading but mostly looking at the snow and at Viola. She looks so pretty that it just about breaks my heart but mostly she just looks happy. She’s smiling and laughing and kissing Todd (I look at the snow then, I’m polite like that) and even though she doesn’t have Noise I can read her and how much she loves Todd and I know how much Todd loves her. And I’m thinking about how pleased I am for both of them.

Author's Note: Okay so this is an attempt at Tiola and fluff, both things that aren't my strong points but I thought seeing as I got 200 followers I should do something different. Feedback appreciated.

I dunno how long it’s been but she’s got to be done soon don’t she?

To be honest I don’t know how long these things take, it aint something I think about (shut up).

I’m getting worried when Mistress Lawson walks out of the room and she’s looking tired but there don’t seem to be anything wrong.

Please say there’s nothing wrong.

She must see the worry in my Noise cuz she smiles and says:

“They’re both fine, congratulations Todd, you have a son.”

A son

Holy crap

I have a son

“You can go in and see them if you like.”

“Yeah, yeah” I don’t know what else to say (shut up)

Viola’s lying in bed looking kinda tired but she looks so happy and so beautiful.

Then I see him

My son

My ruddy son

He’s so small (how is he so small?) it’s like he aint even there.

“Want to hold him?” Asked Viola, I don’t know what to say so I just nod.

Holy crap.

He’s so soft and small in my arms like anything could hurt him and me and Viola are the only two people who can stop anything from hurting him.

His baby Noise aint nothing but colours and feelings that don’t make much sense but I love him so much already and I aint even known him a minute.

“W-what we gunna call him?” I ask Viola

“I was thinking Cillian?” She says and I can feel tears in my eyes cuz she knows and I don’t know what she knows but she just knows cuz somehow that just makes everything see right.

Then I think

“Yer pa, what was his name?” I know she’s told me but I can’t think of nothing else right now.

“Thomas.”

I look at her, then at my son

My son

“Cillian Thomas Hewitt.”

Who do you want to play Todd & Viola?

Is this in mine and Annie's play or like actors? If it's mine and Annie's thing Annie in all her glory is to play Viola (and seriously she will be perf) and we don't know about Todd as of yet. If we're talking actors I think Charlie  Rowe would make a pretty awesome Todd and maybe Hailee Steinfeld for Viola? I think unknown actors would be cool too though. I haven't really thought that much about it and to be honest as long as they can act and do the characters justice I'm cool.

30 day Chaos Walking challenge-3.OTP

When Viola found out about Todd banding the woman and being in the Ask she could have abandoned him, but she didn't. She saw how much he regretted it and how much he hated himself and he stayed with him. Their bond is just so deep and amazing. I kind of hate to admit this as well but I was a little disappointed when they kissed, not because I didn't want them to be together but because they were already together in a way and the kiss (to me) just seemed so insignificant compared to how much they went through together. But they're still my otp. Also Ben/Cillian are the shiz.
