OH FUCKING HELL BEAKELEY IS IN CABARET DEB HELP AAAAAA
Okay, so there was literally nothing about that episode that wasn't heartbreakingly painful to me, whether it was the New York or the growing up or the straight out of high school to New York, which is a wonder that you just can't recapture-- heartbreaking for the ache of missing and the ache of having had. And the last number of Rachel's-- the framing shot of her on the stage, her solitary true love there, and sometimes invisible in the city crowd that is mass, submersive heartbeat-- I wept the whole way through.

1. If you were to get a Broadway related tattoo, what would it be of/from what show?
(expanding this to be musical theater in general) There's a part of me that thinks I should get a simple razor on me somewhere, or some other Sweeney Todd tattoo because DUH, but I think I love it so much I can't pick one lyric or idea or something. I'd need to get the whole script tattooed to me. My favorite stage direction, "it is too solid for him", is a bit morose for a tattoo.
However, I am SERIOUSLY considering getting these lines from The Hidden Sky on my right shoulderblade:
One sip from the hand of God and the world begins to taste like ashes
What would we not sacrifice to live among the lightning flashes?
22. Favorite "tagline" of a show. (i.e. "no day but today.")
This is maybe cheating but I laugh so hard whenever something is taglined with: "a new musical" because inevitably it is no longer a new musical but is still called "a new musical".
25. Favorite set design?
Narrowing this to ones I've seen live, I LOVED the set of the 110 in the Shade revival. Really strong image, transformative in a useful way. In a completely other direction, American Idiot for it's ridiculousness. (WHY IS THERE A CAR HANGING FROM THE CEILING WHY okay never explained fine but the whole thing was very visually stimulating.
I'm not by nature sycophantic or sentimental (I'm highly Holmesian in that sense) but this past week has shown me what truly wonderful people I have in my life. People have listened to me, supported me and overall shown what good friends they are even when some of them have been put in potentially difficult positions personally or professionally. Others are far away and can't do anything but listen, offer support, offer righteous anger on my part, or offer jokes and things to cheer me up. All of which helped enormously. I complain a lot, but I'm so grateful for all this.
Most of them won't see this, but those who do, you know who you are so thank you.
"Drag queen hugs probably fix everything."
Truer words were never spoken D.
This is stuck in my head. Also I think I need to hear this today.
