blupjeans for the ship bingo thing?

BLUPJEANS FOR THE LOVE OF MY LIFE GRAHHH 🙏🙏🙏🙏 i am so in love with them and have been ever since i listened to the stolen century 🫶🫶🫶

a big reason why i'm simply so normal abt them is because of how well they work together and how intertwined their stories and characters are in canon; their characters are so much more interesting with the addition of then being together. i mean, barry is quite literally called the lover; who is he without lup? he loves the whole starblaster crew ofc, but lup truly is everything to him, i think. so much of his story – specifically post-voidfish – is centered around her, and i love that fact. he bounces between human and lich form for a decade, and while he is trying to reunite the crew as a whole, it really all boils down to lup.

lup is interesting in a different way, because it's almost the opposite. she spent her whole childhood with taako by her side, because all they really needed was each other; nobody else was necessary. but once they're on the starblaster and lup starts falling for barry, things change a bit. lup becomes more independent, going as far as doing something really bit that taako isn't really apart of; becoming a lich. and who's there, becoming a lich with her? barry.

and that's not even mentioning the comedy in their dynamic, to be honest. it's this wicked, badass motherfucker elf girl with her magic fire shit and he equally cool twin brother; except she's absolutely moonstruck by this seemingly lame and dorky guy named barry who wear exclusively bluejeans and can't swim and is lactose intolerant. it's not until you look closer that you realize that lup is equally dorky, and that barry is actually just as weird and badass because he is a literal necromancer, and i think that whole dynamic fucks really hard.
